ABOUT THE ROLE

We're seeking a Product Owner – Payment Services to help build company-wide, enterprise-level payment services for all our clients. In this role, you will blend technical and product experience in order to build enterprise-level services. You'll influence the roadmap both strategically and tactically, focusing on revenue expansion and optimization for the transaction processing product line — work that's critical to REPAY's continued growth. You'll provide leadership for service initiatives from use case identification through requirements definition and post-launch support, and play an integral part on a team with high visibility and responsibility within the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop business requirements for payment processing services serving REPAY’s clients

  • Building a library of payment services with mature API definitions

  • Collaborating with Architecture to ensure healthy cloud technology usage

  • Identifying market opportunities and driving proactive requirements gathering, use case definition, and acceptance criteria for REPAY’s payments products.

  • Aligning with the product vision and strategy by managing a rolling four-quarter product roadmap

  • Managing the product backlog for Payment Services.

  • Collaborating with key internal stakeholders in Technology, Sales, and Operations on new opportunities

  • Engage with key clients on product roadmap delivery

  • Turning roadmap epics into actionable work for REPAY Technology development teams in a highly professional, collaborative manner.

  • Collaborating with Technology to ensure continuous investment in architecture that advances REPAY as a market leader.

  • Partnering with REPAY Marketing and Technical Writers to develop product documentation, including client training materials and release notes.

  • Maintaining and growing industry knowledge of card, digital wallet, and real-time payment methods across REPAY’s supported verticals

  • Evangelizing REPAY’s product line and services across the company.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years’ experience as a Product Owner successfully launching payment processing services and products.

  • Strong technical background in microservices and cloud technology.

  • Solid understanding of debit and credit card payment processing, including acquiring and card association operating rules.

  • Strong background in providing API products to the market

  • A unique blend of business and technical savvy, big-picture vision, and a passion for creating solutions all the way from ideation to post-launch

  • Creating and executing user story acceptance criteria

  • Passion for great user experience, including the experience of engineers integrating with REPAY’s APIs

  • Product Owner experience with scalable, high-performing, and highly available API-based platforms

  • Strong understanding of all aspects of Agile product development and delivery

  • A proven track record of success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple competing and often conflicting priorities

  • Excellent technical acumen, curiosity, and familiarity with emerging technologies, including real-time payments and AI-driven automation

  • A winning attitude, excellent teamwork, and strong communication and presentation skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Ability to travel up to 15%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Payments Professional Certification

  • Certified Product Owner Certification

  • Strong proficiency using Atlassian tools, Postman

  • Demonstrable knowledge of leveraging AI to deliver enterprise software
