At Platform Science, we’re working to connect everything that moves.

Founded in 2015, we are an open IoT platform that partners with innovative fleets, application developers, vehicle manufacturers, and equipment providers in the transportation industry to deliver revolutionary solutions to supply chain professionals across the globe.

Our employees are an engaging, diverse group of people who believe in the power of great ideas. We hire people with different experiences and perspectives to build a company culture that fuels growth through innovation.

We value thoughtful actions and empathy for others.  We approach challenges with resiliency and creativity, while encouraging transparency because, no matter our backgrounds or responsibilities, we are one team.

About the Role

As a Product Owner at Platform Science, you'll be embedded with engineering teams to turn product strategy into shipped software, fast and with precision. You'll be the connective tissue between customers, stakeholders, and developers, ensuring the "why" behind every requirement is as clear as the "what."

You'll work in a dynamic environment where AI tools and evolving development practices are reshaping how product teams operate. If you're energized by that, and by writing specs that engineering teams can actually build from, we want to talk to you.

This position reports to Sr. Manager, Product.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define scope and business specifications for the technology team from concept to launch, with clarity and precision that reduces ambiguity before engineering begins
  • Own backlog management: prioritize stories and features, manage deadlines and deliverables, and communicate tradeoffs clearly to the team
  • Write and refine requirement specifications including user stories and feature acceptance criteria to a standard that engineering teams can build from confidently
  • Attend and lead Scrum ceremonies including refinement, planning, review, retrospective, and daily standups
  • Engage with customers, customer experience teams, and subject matter experts to understand workflows and translate them into actionable requirements
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product colleagues to align on future enhancements and contribute to roadmap formation
  • Partner closely with the QA/Testing team to ensure usability and quality of tools developed
  • Work across teams and product areas to identify backlog synergies and foster collaborative development with local and global teams
  • Leverage AI and automation tools to accelerate documentation, story writing, discovery, and backlog grooming, and actively contribute to how our team evolves its development practices as new tooling matures
  • Support product launch activities and generate launch materials as needed i.e. Demos, User Guides, release notes and webinars.

Required Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication that is clear, concise, and objective; able to write specs and stories that don't require a follow-up meeting to interpret
  • Ability to lead and facilitate technical discussions with engineering teams in an agile development environment
  • Comfortable engaging stakeholders across functions and directly with customers to gather and synthesize feedback
  • Proven ability to prioritize effectively under changing conditions and competing demands
  • Confident contributor willing to voice ideas, ask hard questions, and push back constructively
  • Familiarity with AI and automation tools to improve personal productivity and output quality, with a willingness to experiment with how modern tooling can advance the PO role

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in a SaaS or technology environment
  • Demonstrated experience working within agile software development methodologies
  • Proficiency with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and Google Suite
  • Experience collaborating with distributed engineering teams across time zones or regions
  • Background in telematics, fleet technology, or transportation tech is a plus but not required
