Job Description
NBCUniversal's Product Team builds products that provide essential capabilities to organizations throughout NBCUniversal. The team leverages deep relationships with our Operations [LK1] [SR2] and engineering counterparts to build cohesive, end-to-end solutions for their clients or users. The product portfolio is aligned around critical NBCU functions such as Content/Title Management, Data & Analytics, Scheduling & Distribution, and Content Sales.
As a part of the Product team, you will partner with the Product Manager and assume responsibility for several products in your department focused on supporting Universal Destinations & Experiences. You will be in constant communication with clients on anything product related, including requirements gathering, sprint planning and management, tracking development progress, testing, and documentation. You are an expert in your area's product features, capabilities, and functionality.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Execute on critical initiatives for Universal Destination & Experiences surrounding asset management and distribution for both internal and external workflows
  • Scope and collect customer requirements, provide guidance on best practices and apply technology and product knowledge to address customer needs
  • Develop specs and requirements for enterprise level media management products
  • Create user stories and ensure the integrity of builds prior to launch
  • Support development team efforts, sprint planning, testing and product roll out
  • Project manage system and solution roll outs and define processes for ongoing operational support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business leaders, partners, technology stakeholders to solve complex problems with proposed workflows and technical solutions
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Basic Requirements
  • 2 years experience in a role demonstrating strong technical, quantitative, or analytical skills
  • 2 years experience in a role exhibiting excellent written and oral communications, effective interpersonal skills, project management, and strong formal presentation abilities
  • 2 years hands-on experience with emerging media technology products
  • 2 years experience in product development, including requirements analysis, specification development, user design, and implementation

Desired Characteristics
  • Experience in enabling customer workflows and operations
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Analytical mind & strong problem-solving capabilities with experience in building business cases, and evolving product strategy based on research, data and industry trends.
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial and strategically oriented individuals with exposure to all stages and aspects of product management
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex environments and work with interdisciplinary teams and effectively communicate priorities, delivery expectations, risks and concerns to senior management.
  • Strong technical understanding of media technology and web services
  • Excellent written and verbal communication - strong and effective public speaking skills
