Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000 per year
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Working Production Supervisor to join our team based out of our Georgetown, ON facility. This manufacturing plant produces complex castings mainly for the commercial aerospace industries. This position is primarily accountable for supervising and working alongside staff to ensure that all pieces produced by the unit are prepared and made into final products in accordance with the production plan and as per the specifications and the prescribed quality norms.
Key Responsibilities:
· Ensure that all company polices and quality standards are adhered to.
· Work alongside staff and manage the on-going development, performance, and day-to-day supervision of assigned shift personnel in order to maintain quality standards and ensure daily production quotas are met.
· Provide leadership including discipline and performance management of employees as necessary.
· Identify training and development needs and personal growth opportunities for employees, coaching and motivating individuals to achieve results.
· Ensure employees are trained on procedures relating to safety, production, and quality.
· Act as a coach for employees: ensure support and guidance by providing regular “feedback” on their performance and behaviour. Ensure positive reinforcement and “on-the-job” training.
· Ensure that employees have the material, tools and supply required to effectively accomplish their work activities.
· Participates in the development of the production plan and schedules for the unit.
· Develops manpower work schedules to reflect production plan requirements.
· Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
· Control hours worked, attendance, overtime.
· Communicates and explains production needs/problems and ensures complete understanding by each employee.
· Identify and resolve production issues in an efficient manner, assist in the resolution of quality production problems.
· Works with Human Resources Department on matters affecting employee records, compensation, benefits and discipline.
· Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent experience
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Supervisor in a ISO certified manufacturing environment.
· Proficient with Microsoft office including excel, power point and outlook
· Strong interpersonal skills and leadership ability in order to successfully manage a diverse group of employees.
· Excellent communication (written and verbal) and analytical skills.
· Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
· Demonstrated team building talent
· Certified in first aid and in JHSC would be considered an asset.
