Meet Slingshot

At Slingshot Aerospace, we're on a mission to make space safer and more secure for everyone. Our work directly impacts global security, disaster response, climate monitoring, and the critical infrastructure that connects our world. We're a team of builders, thinkers, and problem-solvers who believe that the next generation of space operations will be powered by better data and smarter software. We move fast, we're not afraid to fail, and we believe the best ideas can come from anywhere—whether you're in engineering, sales, product, or operations. If you want to work on something that truly matters, with people who care deeply about the impact we're making and help shape the future of an industry that's just getting started, you're in the right place.

What You’ll Be Launching

The Senior Program Financial Analyst will oversee all program-related financial activities from proposal through award and completion. This role is critical in supporting commercial and government contracting compliance, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive program success.

We're building a team of sharp, creative people who love solving hard problems. We value curiosity over ego, initiative over waiting for permission, and people who genuinely care about doing great work. Bring your expertise, your fresh ideas, and your drive—we'll bring the rocket fuel.

Your Mission (Should you choose to accept it)

  • Oversee program finances from proposal to completion, including cost planning, revenue forecasting, and EAC (Estimate at Completion) management.
  • Perform variance cost and price analysis and provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to FAR, CAS, and other Government regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience working with government cost structures, including indirect cost and burden rate development (e.g., fringe, overhead, G&A).
  • Strong working knowledge of government contract types (CPFF, T&M, FFP) and how cost rates impact pricing, profitability, and project performance.
  • Ability to partner with Program Managers, Contracts, and Executive Leadership to forecast rates, evaluate pricing strategies, and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
  • Prior experience supporting DCAA/DCMA audits or reviews is highly desirable.
  • Support completion of the annual Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS).
  • Support revenue recognition determinations in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Oversee billing processes, including milestone and progress billings.
  • Collaborate with Growth and Product teams on proposal development and pricing.
  • Assist in creating Statements of Work (SoW) with project teams.
  • Conduct contract reviews and provide financial input during negotiations.
  • Administer project setup and cost plans in NetSuite.
  • Train and advise team members on program finance and NetSuite usage.
  • Develop labor utilization reports, resource planning, and staff planning metrics.
  • Provide financial dashboards and charts for leadership decision-making.

Pre-flight Checklist

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
  • Understanding of Forward Pricing Rate Proposals (FPRPs) and support that rates are compliant with FAR, DFARS, and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
  • Experience in developing monthly financial Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs)
  • 5+ years of experience in Program Finance.
  • Strong knowledge of FAR, CAS, and government contracting principles.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite ERP system.
  • Experience with EAC reviews, revenue forecasting, and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
  • Familiarity with provisional billing rates, incurred cost submissions, and proposal pricing.
  • Ability to interpret contracts and assist in SoW development.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Bonus Cargo

  • Financial experience in the aerospace/defense industry.
  • Knowledge of cash flow management and milestone billing structures.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.

We're building a constellation here, not looking for identical satellites. Every member of the team brings different capabilities to the same mission. If your orbit intersects with ours and you're mission-ready, send it.
