The Business Development Director serves as a strategic leader responsible for driving growth, market expansion, and new consulting engagement opportunities for MedAxiom Care Transformation Services (CTS). This position is accountable for identifying, developing, and advancing relationships that result in consulting revenue, member engagement, and long-term business growth.

Reporting directly to the EVP of Care Transformation Services, the Director develops and executes business development strategies that align member needs with CTS solutions. The position works independently and collaboratively with Membership Executives, consultants, marketing leaders, and executive stakeholders to identify organizational challenges, develop solutions, and create pathways to new consulting engagements.

The Director serves as a trusted advisor to cardiovascular program leaders, health system executives, and physician leaders, helping organizations navigate strategic, operational, financial, and clinical transformation opportunities. Success in this role is measured by growth in consulting opportunities, expansion of client relationships, revenue generation, and contribution to the overall strategic objectives of CTS.

Responsibilities
  • Lead business development discussions with members and prospective clients to identify strategic, operational, and financial challenges that may benefit from CTS consulting services.
  • Assess organizational needs, diagnose business challenges, and develop recommendations that align client priorities with CTS service offerings.
  • Conduct research to identify and track healthcare-related Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other potential business opportunities.
  • Own and manage a portfolio of business development opportunities, maintaining an active sales pipeline and providing forecasting, reporting, and strategic recommendations to CTS leadership.
  • Develop and execute business development strategies designed to increase consulting revenue, expand market presence, and strengthen member engagement.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with health system leaders, cardiovascular administrators, physician executives, and key stakeholders.
  • Identify, cultivate, and advance consulting opportunities from initial engagement through proposal development, contracting, and project launch.
  • Collaborate with CTS consultants to develop client-centered solutions, proposals, and strategic recommendations.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging market opportunities to inform growth strategies.
  • Represent MedAxiom at member meetings, industry conferences, and executive forums to promote CTS capabilities and generate new business opportunities.
  • Establish and track performance metrics related to pipeline development, revenue growth, opportunity conversion, and client engagement.
  • Influence organizational growth strategies through market intelligence, member feedback, and business development insights.
  • Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in healthcare consulting, business development, healthcare operations, cardiovascular service line management, membership engagement, strategic planning, or related healthcare leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success developing business relationships and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Experience working with senior healthcare executives, physician leaders, and health system stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, strategic planning, financial performance, and organizational improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and influence decision-making across multiple stakeholders.
