Over half a million members have joined Function to take control of their health.
Through comprehensive lab testing, MRI and CT imaging, longitudinal data, and guidance from AI and clinical teams, Function gives members a complete and continuous view of their health — and the clarity to act on it. Through acquisitions across imaging, mobile phlebotomy, and supplement tracking and optimization, Function is building an integrated health platform that spans the full path from testing to health clarity to daily action.
Function recently announced a $298M Series B and is entering its next chapter of growth. As we scale, the quality and durability of our People systems, data, and insights will directly shape our ability to attract, retain, and support exceptional talent.
We are growing our team and seeking out world-class talent that deeply believes in our mission to positively impact global health, has a relentless bias toward action, and a growth mindset. Function fosters a collaborative and dynamic environment where every day we build the future.
As Function Health expands globally, with active hiring in LATAM, momentum in the UK, and plans for further international growth, we are establishing a strategic foundation to support our international workforce. To ensure long-term success, we are proactively designing a scalable, compliant, and optimized global operating model.
We are seeking a contractor to lead our global workforce strategy workstream. In this role, you will serve as the project manager and strategic connective tissue across People, Legal, Finance, Tax, and business leadership. You will build comprehensive cost-benefit analyses to identify the optimal engagement model for each market, drive key strategic decisions to closure, and establish a clear, repeatable framework that empowers our team to scale sustainably for the future.
This is a hands-on delivery role, not an advisory one. Success looks like decisions made, guardrails published, and a repeatable playbook in place by the end of the engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the global workforce strategy work stream end to end - scope, plan, milestones, risks, and status reporting to leadership.
- Build a comprehensive cost-benefit analysis across our international footprint, covering contractor-to-EOR conversions, new EOR implementations, and the threshold at which standing up a legal entity is the better long-term investment.
- Develop a scalable decision framework for choosing between contractor, EOR, and entity models, weighted for cost, compliance risk, speed, candidate experience, and long-term operating complexity.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across People, Legal, Finance, Tax, and business leaders - surfacing tradeoffs, forcing the open questions, and getting to a decision rather than another meeting.
- Support UK expansion, including evaluation and potential entity creation, on a timeline that lands before year-end.
- Partner with engineering leadership on LATAM hiring plans, giving them the data and framework to evaluate tradeoffs before commitments are made.
- Define clear guardrails and operating principles for contractor engagements including eligibility for employee programs, benefits, and equity.
- Establish lightweight governance: intake process, decision rights, escalation path, and turnaround expectations, so requests stop being handled reactively.
- Document everything and run a clean handoff - playbooks, templates, and decision logs that outlast the engagement.
Qualifications
- 7+ years in program or project management with direct ownership of international workforce, global mobility and expansion, or global HR operations initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with EOR platforms and implementations, contractor engagement models, and the economics and mechanics of establishing legal entities in a new market.
- Working knowledge of the risk landscape: worker classification, permanent establishment, payroll and employment tax, work authorization, benefits, and statutory requirements.
- Direct experience working with LATAM and the UK markets.
- Strong financial modeling instincts. Able to build a defensible fully-loaded cost comparison across models and markets, and explain it to a CFO.
- Proven ability to drive alignment and decisions across senior stakeholders without formal authority.
- Crisp written communication; comfortable writing the exec memo and the operating doc with equal quality.
- Ability to move fast in an ambiguous, high-growth environment and bring structure without adding bureaucracy.
Nice to have
- Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry
- Prior work at a company scaling from first international hires to a multi-entity footprint.
- Familiarity with equity administration across contractor and EOR populations.
- Ruthless Prioritization:
- We don’t let perfect get in the way of progress.
- We move quickly to drive value, not perfection.
- We prioritize what drives impact.
- We never compromise on standards of excellence.
- Member-First, Always:
- We design and deliver like we’re caring for someone we love.
- We create calendar, actionable, human experience.
- We prioritize responsiveness, peace of mind, and outcomes.
- We empower members with truth, clarity, and care.
- One Team, Moving Fast:
- We are aligned in purpose, prioritization, and speed.
- We gather diverse perspectives to make informed decisions.
- We clear paths for each other and move fast together.
- We communicate clearly and respectfully, rallying around shared goals.
- Radical Ownership, Relentless Execution:
- We don’t just ship– we own outcomes and drive results.
- We act with urgency and precision
- We anticipate, initiate, and follow through.
- We meet challenges with grit and pragmatism.
- We embrace new tech to deliver better outcomes.
- Mission Over Ego:
- We are ruthlessly aligned to our mission - and leave ego at the door.
- We disagree and commit.
- We don't tolerate politics or withholding information.
- We operate with honesty, transparency, and respect.
- Sustained Integrity in Every Detail:
- We earn trust by obsessing over accuracy, quality, and clarity in everything we do.
- We prioritize clinical precision - data must be right.
- We sweat the details because outcomes depend on them.
We value our team at Function and offer a competitive salary and benefits package, flexible working hours, and a dynamic work environment where creativity and innovation are encouraged.
