Job Description:This position is a shared opportunity between Fargo and Detroit Lakes. The role will bridge the work between Fargo and Detroit Lakes with time spent in Fargo. The expectation is that there will be two days per week spent in Detroit Lakes.
Reporting to the market Executive Director, the Program Director of Major Giving is responsible for managing a regional portfolio with the purpose to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward potential and existing major gift donors of the Essentia Health Foundation on the local level. This position will aim to create a level of sustainability by ensuring a strong, local pipeline. The position will partner with the local foundation board, as well as local leadership and physicians/care teams. They will also coordinate efforts with our systemwide development staff, ensuring their strategy plan aligns with that of the health system, and that their process and programs are coordinated with the health system.

  • Bachelors degree

Required Qualifications:

  • 4 years of development, marketing, sales, or the equivalent experience is required. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CRM (Client Relationship Management Software), for example Raisers Edge or Sales Force. 

    CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive). 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manage and optimize a major gift portfolio of corporate and individual prospects of 50 to 60. 

  • Responsible for developing relationship strategies for effective donor engagement and stewardship of constituents in donor portfolio. 

  • Work closely with key board members, operational, clinical, and administrative leaders to understand funding priorities across the regional footprint. 

  • Leverages relationships with colleagues and regional board members to identify, connect with, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors. 

  • Monitor, track and report on donor relationship progress with metrics as compared to agree upon goals. 

  • Expand legacy and planned giving. 

  • Strategically manages local foundation budget ensuring to minimize expenses while maximizing return.  

  • Work in collaboration with research and service team to develop any necessary data lists, proposals, assets, events, or marketing materials to support Foundation plan. 

  • Maintains a solid understanding of the main areas of need based on our current strategic plan. 

  • Oversees regional development plans, in coordination with services team, to support local events and programs designed to expand constituent participation and encourage major giving. 

  • Ability to present, plan, and update results of fundraising plan to leadership. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as verified through appropriate licensing agency

  • Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health 's insurer

  • Proof of current motor vehicle insurance, including minimum State limits and without business exclusion
