Jira Admin - Web Developer

Onsite in Foster City, CA | at least 3 days in office

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Program Manager to support our technical teams by owning and optimizing the tools and processes that drive our engineering lifecycle.

This is a project-based role focused on enabling teams via Jira maintenance, administration, developing insightful dashboards, Automation and refining engineering workflows. This position is critical for driving execution, tracking performance, and enabling our engineering teams to deliver effectively on key business objectives.

Responsibilities:

Jira & Tooling Support:

Serve as a primary support for the Autonomy team’s Jira and Confluence environments.

Assist technical teams with the configuration of Jira projects, optimizing and defining new workflows, custom fields, screen schemes, and permission schemes.

Automate and integrate Jira with developer tools.

Champion and provide guidance on best practices for Jira hygiene and usage across all engineering teams.

Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve user-reported issues related to Jira and the associated tool.

Assist engineering teams in Jira adoption.

Partner with PMO and other key stakeholders in achieve the above.

Process & Workflow Enablement:

Partner with engineering managers and functional leads to help analyze existing workflows and identify areas for improvement.

Collaborate with teams to document, refine, and standardize key processes (e.g., sprint planning, bug tracking, feature development, and epic management).

Support the execution of cross-functional process improvement initiatives by providing project coordination and administrative support.

Dashboarding & Reporting:

Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs, then build and maintain program-level and team-level dashboards (e.g., using Jira Dashboards, EazyBI, or other BI tools).

Assist teams in developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for project health, team velocity, bug density, and cycle times.

Create and deliver regular status reports, leveraging data from established dashboards to communicate status, risks, and key accomplishments.

Required Qualifications:

BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.

6+ years of experience in technical program management, project management, or a similar role within a software development environment.

Having Jira Administration experience is a plus.

Proficiency with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence), including creating complex JQL queries, configuring advanced workflows, Jira Plan, Jira structures, and building shared dashboards.

Proficient in Agile methodologies, leveraging Jira to streamline sprint planning, backlog grooming, and project tracking.

Extensive experience synchronizing SDLC tools, specifically linking Jira with Git to automate status transitions and improve traceability.

Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects and process improvement initiatives independently.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to define metrics, analyze data, and generate actionable insights.

Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to train users and present complex information clearly.

Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, translating team needs into scalable, automated, and simplified operational models.
