The Project Management Intern will support the Program Management organization by assisting with the coordination, planning, and execution of customer projects across engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing functions. This role is designed as a structured learning opportunity where the intern will gain hands-on exposure to supply chain operations, ERP systems, quoting workflows, and cross-functional communication. Working under direction from a Program Manager, the intern will help maintain project trackers, support quote preparation, participate in sales order updates, learn lead-time requirements across operations, and gain an understanding of how internal teams collaborate to successfully deliver products to customers. This position is ideal for students seeking practical experience in industrial engineering, supply chain management, operations, or project management within a fast-paced technical environment.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination & Support (40%)- Shadow Program Managers to learn complete project lifecycle execution—from RFQ to shipment.
- Assist in maintaining and updating internal and customer-facing trackers, ensuring accuracy of status for quotes, sales orders, RMAs, and production activities.
- Support creation and updates to Gantt charts and project timelines, aligning operational steps to correct lead-times.
- Participate in project meetings, capture notes, and help follow up on action items.
- Learn and operate within the company ERP system to update sales orders, review BOM component status, and verify data accuracy.
- Assist with recording quote activities, order acknowledgments, and project documentation.
- Help maintain consistency and accuracy of project data across PM tools and logs.
- Support PMs in reviewing RFQs by understanding BOM requirements, scope, and operational sequencing.
- Learn to analyze supply chain factors such as component availability, supplier lead-times, and outsourced processing.
- Assist in preparing pricing or quote support materials and confirming operational feasibility for customer requests.
- Develop communication skills by working directly with Procurement, Planning, Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
- Help centralize and clarify communications to ensure alignment among internal teams.
- Assist in preparing structured updates for PMs and customer-facing communication under supervision.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Project Management, or a related field.
Technical Skills- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Understanding of Supply Chain Management principles
- Familiarity with Value Stream Mapping or process mapping
- Ability to interpret basic statistical or operational data
- Exposure to CRM or ERP systems is a plus
- Coding/scripting skills (Python, VBA, SQL, etc.) are a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with good organizational habits
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
- Analytical thinker with a willingness to learn and ask questions
- Proactive, curious, and motivated to understand end-to-end operational flows
