The opportunity

The Project Manager is a key member of the Harvard Business Impact team, leading the delivery of leadership development solutions for some of the world’s leading companies. The Project Manager works closely with our clients, thought leaders, facilitators, and colleagues, and is responsible for all aspects of project management. Our leadership development programs are best-in-class, and we expect our Project Managers to be, too.

The Project Manager owns the entire delivery process for one or more clients. This position is ideal for an experienced project or program manager, someone with a background in management and leadership development, who has led client engagements in an executive education department or professional services firm.

Successful Project Managers are team players, have a highly consultative approach to client engagement, flexibility, proven project management ability, and an interest in adult learning and the practice of management.

What you'll do

  • Deliver high-quality programs and services for assigned clients, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for client engagements, building strong relationships with client project managers and senior sponsors.

  • Coordinate and onboard new projects, involving relevant team members (e.g., Senior Learning Managers, faculty, facilitators) to ensure successful delivery.

  • Manage project risks and scope, proactively addressing issues before they arise.

  • Identify business development opportunities and refer them to the Relationship Manager.

  • Implement solutions that align with client needs, leveraging leadership development expertise.

  • Engage thought leaders and facilitators to deliver program design and content.

  • Discuss instructional design and learning objectives to ensure program effectiveness.

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years of experience in client-facing project management in an educational environment or professional services firm. 

  • Strong planning and organizational skills to manage complex projects and schedules.

  • Proven project management expertise with the ability to monitor progress and adapt to change.

  • Customer-focused decision-making to ensure high-quality outcomes.

  • Clear communication and status updates to keep teams informed and projects on track.

  • Ability to interpret project data and recommend improvements for success.

  • Domain knowledge relevant to leadership development and client engagement.

  • Proficiency required with MS office products such as MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. 

  • Experience with collaborative technologies such as WebEx and MS Teams 

  • Strong business acumen skills. Relationship-oriented. Customer-focused. Willing to go the extra mile to delight clients.

  • PMP/Prince2 Certification

This position is a 6‑month, part‑time contract role, working 25–35 hours per week as needed, with the possibility of extension. Pay range: $45–$50 per hour.
