Project Manager I

itD is seeking a Project Manager I to own and drive UX Research vendor engagements from intake through contract execution and invoicing. This role will serve as the central point of coordination between UX researchers, vendors, contract teams, approvers, and leadership, ensuring projects maintain momentum, blockers are resolved quickly, and stakeholders have clear visibility into status and next steps. The ideal candidate will bring strong project or program management, vendor/procurement coordination, and operational execution experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-volume workstreams independently in a fast-paced environment.

Location: Remote – U.S. (CST and PST time zones required)
Duration: 12 months, with possibility of extension or conversion

Responsibilities
  • Own a portfolio of UX Research vendor engagements end to end, from initial intake through SOW creation, contract execution, purchase order issuance, and invoicing.
  • Coordinate across UX researchers, vendors, contract teams, approvers, and leadership to keep engagements moving and ensure everyone understands required actions and deadlines.
  • Drive daily momentum across multiple active cases, creating urgency when next steps depend on other teams or external partners.
  • Monitor project status, proactively identify risks and blockers, and escalate issues while developing and following through on paths to resolution.
  • Communicate project status, progress, risks, and blockers to managers and stakeholders through clear, proactive written updates.
  • Maintain accurate KPI and SLA tracking, project documentation, vendor resources, process materials, and centralized sources of information.
  • Identify recurring friction within the intake-to-contract process and recommend or manage process improvements that increase efficiency and throughput.
  • Provide guidance on vendor engagement and procurement compliance policies, serving as a trusted subject matter resource for UX Research stakeholders.
Internal Responsibilities
  • Attend regular internal practice community meetings.
  • Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.
  • Complete client case studies and learning material, including blogs and media material.
  • Build material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.
  • Attend internal itD networking events, both in person and virtually.
  • Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • 4+ years of experience in project coordination, project/program management, procurement, vendor management, or operations, with demonstrated end-to-end ownership of a workstream.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects or cases across cross-functional teams and external partners in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage momentum across a portfolio of active projects with minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • Experience proactively providing regular written status updates to managers and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve productivity, increase throughput, and scale project-management workflows while maintaining quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with peers, cross-functional stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and make effective decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail while managing a high volume of concurrent work.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Project or program management experience with formal PM training or certification, such as PMP, CAPM, or equivalent.
  • Experience in procurement, sourcing, contracting, or vendor management, particularly supporting research, R&D, or creative teams.
  • Experience with case, ticket, or workflow management systems.
  • Familiarity with UX research or research operations.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
