Job Summary

The Project Manager II manages and leads the coordination of activities of multiple project teams and vendor partners to provide complete support to the client. This position supervises a team of Project Managers (PM), Assistant PMs, and Project Coordinators. The successful candidate has an ability to communicate clearly with all parties involved in a project, including key stakeholders, internal customers, team members, and vendor partners to lead a project team around a common set of goals. This role requires the ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service, teamwork, and attention to detail to ensure client satisfaction. Must be able to deal with ambiguity and conflict while maintaining professionalism and focus on the project goals. It is important to be a seller / doer, meaning this role includes business development and a focus on expanding the current and future client opportunities.

In addition, this role has significant direct client interface and is critical to creating strong relationships with our clients. They are the first step in escalating issues or risks that surface and therefore need strong problem-solving skills and an ability to provide direction to the team on how to address these situations.

*This position requires you to be on site a minimum of 4 days a week

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver multiple complex projects simultaneously from inception to close out.
  • Develop and manage scope, schedule, budget for overall project portfolio, and track/provide support for all project issues and resolutions.
  • Provide leadership to the team that is managing projects locally and though out the Americas from inception to close out.
  • Manage a direct team that can include PMs, Assistant PMs and Project Coordinators.
  • Effectively manage high-sensitivity customers, vendors, and situations at both project (tactical) and program (strategic) levels.
  • Serve as the first level of issue and risk escalation and creatively problem solve and provide recommendation on the actions that should be taken.
  • Strong relationship building skills with client, representing the project and PPM.
  • Develop and maintain complete knowledge of vendor services and capabilities, processes, and deliverables.
  • Lead project coordination meetings with associated stakeholders and vendors for projects assigned (ex. Operations to Migration, Transition to operations, etc.)
  • Vet and approve project invoice and check accuracy for clients.
  • Communicate issue reports to client on behalf of project(s).
  • Initiate and act on program-level needs as they arise or escalate to leadership as needed. Responsible for coordinating and providing resources for initiative efforts.
  • Provide measurable and timely responses to client and team inquiries and concerns.
  • Utilize PPM and/or client project tools and templates to maintain accurate project documentation files.
  • Track and manage value logs monthly for qualitative and quantitative value adds to the client projects, client operations, and team.
  • Conduct post-mortem/debrief/lessons learned on completed projects
  • Contribute to strategy and goals for the region team
  • Perform core management / leadership responsibilities to direct reports (1:1 meetings, performance reviews, career conversations, onboarding, assigning work, etc.)
  • Drives team building and team morale monitoring. Coordinates team building/morale/engagement efforts.
  • Establish a working relationship with business line space program manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-9 years of related experience in project management and/or real estate and facilities management.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, MS Project, MS Visio.
  • Roles requires daily communication with client and team members. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Ability to manage cloud based and online management software.
  • Must be able to inspect design plans and documents for accuracy.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information at various levels, demonstrating the ability to build consensus for decision-making.
  • Maintains a courteous and professional manner, works well in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to move within and between client buildings more than 50% of the day.
  • Must be available evenings and weekends depending on project deadlines.
  • The person in this role needs to be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Able to travel as needed for individual projects within North America.
