ABOUT THE LUCAS MUSEUM OF NARRATIVE ART
Opening in September 2026, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is dedicated to illustrated storytelling.  Founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, the museum’s collection features works by artists including Norman Rockwell, Kadir Nelson, Jessie Willcox Smith, N. C. Wyeth, Beatrix Potter, Judith F. Baca, Frida Kahlo, and Maxfield Parrish; as well as comic art legends such as Winsor McCay, Jack Kirby, Frank Frazetta, Alison Bechdel, Chris Ware, and R. Crumb; and photographers Gordon Parks, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Dorothea Lange. The Museum also houses the Lucas Archives, containing models, props, concept art, and costumes from Lucas’s filmmaking career. 
 
Designed by Ma Yansong of MAD with a landscape by Mia Lehrer of Studio-MLA, the Museum is in Exposition Park, Los Angeles, on an 11-acre campus that includes new green space and a 300,000-square-foot building with galleries, two theaters, a library, restaurant, café, retail store, and community spaces.  
 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

This is a 9 month benefits-eligible position.

 

This role will be responsible for various project and workflow management responsibilities in support of the Lucas Museum’s Marketing, Communications & Design teams. This will include monitoring project progress using internal systems such as Airtable and other internal databases; coordinating and distributing project recaps, marketing materials and memos; This position will report to the Executive Project Manager to CEO/Chief Revenue & Engagement Officer and collaborate internally with internal departments and external vendors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Tracking & Workflow Management
    • Maintain up-to-date tracking of all marketing projects, including tasks, owners, deadlines, and status updates
    • Monitor project progress and flag delays, dependencies, and incomplete items
    • Support coordination of timelines for initiatives including but not limited to large-scale opening campaigns, ongoing promotional initiatives, and Design team schedules
    • Capture notes and track action items
    • Internal Systems & Asset Management
        • Maintain and update internal marketing systems, databases, and shared folders
        • Manage metadata, usage status, and cataloging for marketing assets
        • Assist with monitoring asset requests and tracking approvals
    • Airtable Management
        • Maintain Airtable bases for the Marketing, Communications & Design teams, including status updates, attachments, and workflow improvements
        • Support the Executive Project Manager to CEO / Chief Revenue & Engagement Officer to ensure project needs and deadlines are documented and up to date
    • Marketing Memos & Material Development
        • Support drafting and formatting of marketing memos
        • Prepare copy, collect details, and assemble information for campaign materials
    • Analytics & Reporting
        • Assist in writing campaign performance summaries and analytics reports
        • Gather data and format findings for stakeholders
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration
        • Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to gather information
        • Ensure work aligns with brand guidelines and strategic priorities
        • Participate in marketing working groups
    • General Marketing Team Support
        • Provide administrative support, including scheduling and meeting preparation
        • Assist with special projects, especially during the museum’s opening period

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in project management, operations, or executive support 
  • Experience managing large, multi-stakeholder projects to completion
  • Familiarity with marketing, communications, and / or digital workflows preferred
  • Demonstrated success supporting a creative team as a project manager
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management systems such as Asana, Airtable, Smartsheet, or others
