This role will work closely with clients and internal departments to ensure successful deployments of solutions on time and within scope. Our ideal candidate should feel comfortable being a team lead and be familiar with microservices best practices. This role will be working in an agile and highly detail-oriented environment with a mixed team of both JBS engineers and our client’s engineering team. The Project Manager supports the entire project lifecycle, including pre-sales solution design and definition, project implementation, system configuration, transition to Support, and project documentation and closure.

This position is a full-time role. We are 100% remote but candidates must reside and be authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the internal team to ensure alignment on project objectives, timelines and deliverables.
  • Engage with clients and prospects in pre-sales efforts to scope solutions and clearly document professional service requests based on product capabilities.
  • Monitor and maintain key project dates and deadlines, ensuring all team members are well-informed and aware of responsibilities.
  • Facilitate meetings while providing agendas and clearly communicating outcomes and action items.
  • Employ proactive communication strategies to address any potential roadblocks or delays, fostering a culture of accountability and adherence to project timelines.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identifying risks, and assisting in devising contingency plans.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve processes and provide feedback to the Delivery team.
Required Skills
  • 6+ years of project management experience, including leading Agile projects and working within Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum or Kanban).
  • Strong technical understanding and familiarity with software development concepts, enabling effective communication with engineering teams and comprehension of complex technical discussions.
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and manage the complexities inherent in custom software projects - no two engagements at JBS are exactly the same.
  • Deeper understanding of Agile and Scrum principles, beyond basic terminology. Must be able to apply these practices pragmatically to drive successful delivery.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills with a high level of follow-up and follow-through.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, set priorities and clarify priorities when uncertainty exists.
  • Experience interfacing with external customers at all levels and driving customer meetings.
  • Experience as part of a cohesive team in which technical resources are shared across multiple projects.
  • Ability to compile technical requirements and implementation details clearly and concisely into a customer-facing document.
  • Attention to detail in documenting effort estimates, technical requirements, and project dates.
  • Confidence to work under pressure, communicate effectively with customers and drive team members to committed dates.
  • Ability to manage expectations and professionally solve disputes or conflicts.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technology.
  • Demonstrated ability in applying project management discipline and structure within an evolving organization.
Nice To Have
  • Scrum Master or Agile certification (CSM or PMI-ACP, etc.).
  • Experience in coaching and leading Agile transformation efforts.
  • Experience working cross functionally, being the liaison between multiple teams.
  • Software development background.
