cBEYONData + SMX is seeking a Junior Business Analyst to join our team in support of a Modernized Data Science Platform for a Federal customer. The focus of this role is to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, focusing on requirements analysis, business process improvement, and data-driven decision-making to support the program's IT transformation and modernization activities. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and data analysis.
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and the technical development team to ensure a shared understanding of project goals and requirements.
  • Analyze and model business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including business requirements documents, use cases, user stories, and process flow diagrams.
  • Analyze data to provide insights and support data-driven decision-making for the project team.
  • Support the Project Manager in defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Contribute to the identification, documentation, and analysis of project risks and issues.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of user acceptance testing to ensure solutions meet business needs.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Ability and willingness to work onsite two days per week in Crystal City, VA
  • BA/BS degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • 2+ years of experience in a Business Analyst role.
  • Proven experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Knowledge and proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Manage multiple priorities in high-paced environment
  • Experience using and managing document repositories
  • Experience creating and using requirements documentation

Desired Skills/Experience

  • DOD experience
  • Experience with Data Science, Data Analytics, or Business Intelligence projects.
