Technical Program Manager, Knowledge Management
Role Description
Dropbox is seeking an exceptional Technical Program Manager to manage multiple programs and projects for the Strategic Product Initiatives Team. This is a new, challenging, and highly visible position. SPI TPMs are responsible for much of the heavy lifting on projects to ensure that our large scale projects are run efficiently and effectively. This TPM will drive our internal documentation strategy.
Responsibilities
- You will drive our internal technical documentation strategy, including selecting 3rd party tooling, setting up processes, and getting buy-in from engineering, product, and design leaders
- You will need to work with many different domain resources from Product Managers, Engineers, Engineering Managers, UX Designers, Product Marketing, User Researchers, Product Analysts, Growth, Legal, etc.
- Identify and curate technical content – in collaboration with technical experts and implement technical content strategies to ensure that the right knowledge is getting to the right people at the right time (and in the right way)
- Facilitate dissemination of organizational and technical knowledge and learning content at various stages of employee lifecycle through knowledge repositories, resource kits, webinars, learning exchanges, etc.
- Advise and build capacity of internal subject matter experts to capture, curate, and disseminate organizational knowledge
- Support the cultivation of communities of practice and drive learner engagement within both face-to-face and virtual environments
- Provide technical guidance on document and content management (e.g., creation, distribution, revision)
- Support maintenance of the EPD Projects Confluence structure including content organization
- Lead necessary knowledge repository migration
Requirements
- 6+ years of Technical Program Management experience in a related industry
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent years of work experience running technical programs.
- Experience writing technical documentation, using modern documentation software, and shaping internal tooling strategy.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, and comfortable presenting in large groups and handling high-pressure communication with senior management.
- Experience with managing large cross-functional projects with technical depth.
- Must have a thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle from concept to delivery.
- Proven track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects.
