Role Overview

Somewear Labs is seeking a Proposal & Contracts Manager to support the company’s growing government and defense business. This role will lead proposal development, coordinate cross-functional inputs for government submissions, and manage contract execution and compliance across federal programs.

The ideal candidate combines strong proposal management experience with a working understanding of government contracting, including OTA agreements, R&D contracts, and traditional FAR-based procurements.

This role will work closely with Sales/Capture, Engineering, Finance, and Leadership to ensure high-quality proposals, compliant submissions, and smooth contract execution.

Key ResponsibilitiesProposal Management
  • Lead development and submission of proposals, white papers, and technical responses for government opportunities (RFPs, RFIs, BAAs, SBIRs, OTAs).

  • Manage proposal schedules, outlines, and content development across cross-functional teams.

  • Coordinate inputs from engineering, product, business development, and capture teams to ensure cohesive submissions.

  • Ensure compliance with solicitation requirements and submission instructions.

  • Maintain proposal templates, reusable content, and proposal best practices.

  • Support pricing coordination and cost narrative development with finance.

Contract Management
  • Manage the lifecycle of government contracts from award through execution.

  • Coordinate contract review, negotiation, and modifications with internal stakeholders and legal advisors.

  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, reporting obligations, and deliverable timelines.

  • Support administration of government contracts including FAR/DFARS, OTA agreements, and R&D contracts.

  • Track contract milestones, funding increments, and option periods.

  • Maintain organized records of contract documents, modifications, and communications.

Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Partner with capture and sales teams to support strategic opportunities.

  • Work closely with engineering and product teams to translate technical capabilities into proposal content.

  • Coordinate with finance on pricing, budgets, and contract financial tracking.

  • Support leadership with proposal strategy, submission readiness, and contract status updates.

QualificationsRequired
  • 5+ years experience in proposal management, contracts administration, or government program support.

  • Experience supporting U.S. Government contracts or proposals (DoD, DHS, or other federal agencies).

  • Familiarity with FAR/DFARS contracting environments.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent proposals and deadlines.

  • Excellent written communication and document coordination skills.

Preferred
  • Experience with OTA agreements, SBIR/STTR programs, or R&D contracts.

  • Experience supporting defense technology, aerospace, autonomy, or communications programs.

  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes.

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional proposal teams in fast-moving environments.
