  • Supports client and partner communications under supervision, for example, preparing materials, taking meeting notes, and tracking follow-up items.

  • Helps coordinate tasks and timelines across teams, keeping workstreams organized and on track.

  • Helps document and improve team processes and workflows, and contributes ideas for how the work could be done better.

  • Uses AI tools such as Claude to help draft, revise, and polish materials and support day-to-day tasks, learning to apply them effectively and reviewing outputs with guidance from the team.

  • Participates in team meetings and learning opportunities to build skills across Bantam's public affairs work.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Emerging or early-career experience in public affairs, campaigns, policy, communications, renewable energy, or a related area (through work, study, volunteering, organizing, or an equivalent path).

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Well-organized and able to manage time across multiple tasks

  • Curiosity and a demonstrated interest in the work Bantam does

  • Coachable and responsive to feedback

  • Comfort using AI tools and openness to adapting as the technology evolves

  • Self-directed and able to work effectively in a fully remote environment

  • Genuine alignment with Bantam's mission to accelerate advanced energy deployment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to political, electoral, issue-driven, or advocacy campaigns

  • Familiarity with renewable energy, infrastructure, or permitting/land-use topics

  • Coursework, prior internship, volunteer, organizing, or campaign experience in a relevant area

  • Comfort with common productivity or project management tools

Eligibility
  • Applicants must have completed at least three years of undergraduate study by the start of the internship or bring equivalent professional experience. Rising seniors, recent graduates, graduate students, and early-career or returning professionals all welcome.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. We do not sponsor work visas at this time.

Compensation
  • This is a part-time, non-exempt (hourly) position.

  • The hourly pay range for this position is $20 to $30 per hour.

  • Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as (but not limited to) location, level, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

About Bantam Communications

Bantam is a specialized public affairs firm accelerating the deployment of advanced energy infrastructure across the United States.
We partner with developers, investors, coalitions, and mission-aligned philanthropic and non-profit institutions to navigate complex permitting environments, mobilize community support, and shape the policy and narrative conditions necessary for deployment success.
Our work is grounded in the belief that building advanced energy requires not only technological innovation and capital investment, but public trust, political alignment, and social license. We help bridge these gaps—bringing structure, insight, and campaign discipline to every engagement.
With expertise spanning stakeholder strategy, coalition-building, and local and statewide communications, we support the advancement of clean, low-carbon energy solutions—from variable renewables to long-duration storage and next-generation baseload technologies.
By integrating local context with national perspective, we help our partners unlock durable momentum—advancing projects from vision to execution in even the most complex environments.

We are fully remote company with talented employees across the U.S.
