Job Description

Shape the future of iGaming in Brazil as a Public Affairs Manager, building key partnerships and navigating a newly regulated landscape. 

The Legal department provides essential regulatory guidance and strategic support across global markets. As a Public Affairs Manager, you will execute a locally licensed market entry and build trust with policymakers, regulators and key stakeholders within Brazil. This involves engaging with government and media entities to shape public perception and policy related to online gaming. 

Navigating a complex and evolving regulatory landscape requires a deep understanding of Brazilian legislation and corporate diplomacy. You’ll champion commercial interests while establishing common ground with external bodies, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment during a pivotal time for the sector. This role must be resident in Brasília, with frequent travel required to maintain these essential relationships.

Qualifications

  • Background within the online betting and gambling industry.
  • Track record in corporate diplomacy and engaging regulatory bodies in highly regulated sectors 
  • Deep understanding of the Brazilian regulatory landscape 
  • Degree in political science, law or a business management discipline 
  • Fluency in Brazilian Portuguese.
  • Intermediate English proficiency 
  • Highly developed numeracy and analytical capabilities 
  • Assertive judgement when researching complex legislative and compliance matters 
  • Confidence in handling intricate details alongside high-level strategies 

Additional Information

  • Build and maintain relationships with government officials and regulatory bodies to advocate for industry interests. 
  • Oversee external relationships to respond to enquiries from local partners, regulatory authorities and government ministers.
  • Collaborate with sports governing bodies, law firms and consultancy firms to align strategic objectives. 
  • Support the production of political analysis, reports and presentations for established and emerging jurisdictions. 
  • Monitor and analyse proposed legislation to develop strategies that influence policy decisions 
  • Engage in public consultations to represent business interests effectively.
  • Identify emerging trends in regulation and construct actionable responses.
  • Provide context and support for corporate responses to regulatory inquiries
