Job Summary & Responsibilities

Data Axle is looking for a curious, driven, and detail-oriented intern to support our Marketing team across public relations and content marketing. This role is ideal for a strong writer who is excited about storytelling, media, and building brand visibility in smart, measurable ways.

You’ll work closely with senior team members on day-to-day PR efforts—writing and editing content, pitching stories, tracking media coverage, and helping bring campaigns to life. You’ll also contribute to marketing content like blogs, social posts, and thought leadership pieces that align with Data Axle’s voice and business goals.

If you’re organized, proactive, and eager to learn how PR and content work in a fast-paced environment, this role will give you real, hands-on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Support public relations efforts by researching awards, speaking opportunities, events, and media opportunities—and keeping deadlines on track
  • Research, build, and maintain media and analyst contact lists
  • Help brainstorm and draft pitches, press releases, bylines, and thought leadership content
  • Assist with PR strategy for announcements, campaigns, product launches, and activations
  • Create fact sheets and gather supporting data by working with internal subject matter experts
  • Track and report on media coverage, including impressions and reach
  • Build and maintain PR editorial calendars and pitch timelines
  • Monitor industry news and trends to identify timely media opportunities (“newsjacking”)
  • Help identify analysts and support briefings and advisory sessions
  • Prepare media briefing materials, including talking points and background docs
  • Support social media efforts by analyzing performance, drafting posts, and offering recommendations
  • Proofread content for clarity, accuracy, grammar, and AP style
  • Contribute to blog and thought leadership content by identifying trends, sourcing data, and drafting posts aligned with campaign goals
  • Research and write content marketing pieces, ensuring accuracy and consistency of voice to accurately reflect the Data Axle brand
Preferred Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or related degree program
  • Previous internship or relevant experience is a plus
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills (AP Style preferred)
  • Excellent organization and time management skills; comfortable juggling multiple deadlines
  • Clear, professional communicator who can work with people at all levels
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and adaptable
  • Self-starter who can work independently but enjoys being part of a team
