About the Project

Join an engineering team building machine learning systems for one of the world's most innovative companies in the energy and automotive space. You will design, develop, and deploy production ML models working with heterogeneous datasets — including text, voice, images, and tabular data — and collaborate directly with vehicle service, energy service, and software teams. This is a 6-month contract, onsite in Fremont, CA.


Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and implement machine learning models using supervised learning techniques for design support and implementation.

• Collaborate with vehicle service, energy service, and software engineering teams to translate business needs into production-ready ML solutions.

• Take ownership of production models, ensuring robust alerting systems and reliable performance in live environments.

• Work with diverse, heterogeneous datasets (text, voice, images, tabular data) to build and scale ML pipelines.

• Translate ambiguous problem statements into actionable, end-to-end machine learning solutions.

• Follow agile development practices and maintain high standards for clean, modular, and sustainable code.

• Contribute to a culture of engineering excellence, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

REQUIREMENTS

Core tech stack:

• Python (3–5 years, high-performance and data-intensive applications)

• FastAPI

• REST APIs, Microservices architecture

• PyTorch

• Experience working with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) solutions


Desirable:

• Experience with LLMs or recommender systems.

• Familiarity with other deep learning frameworks.

• Experience with heterogeneous data pipelines (text, voice, images, tabular).

Experience requirements:

• 3–5 years of in-depth Python expertise in data-intensive or ML-focused environments.

• Real-world experience deploying and maintaining production machine learning models.

• Strong foundational understanding of statistics for model comparison and evaluation.

• Specialized knowledge in at least one of: large language models, recommender systems, or computer vision.

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience.


Soft skills:

• Passion for writing clean, modular, and sustainable code to bridge research and production.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of production systems.

Additional requirements:

• Must currently reside in Fremont, CA or nearby area, NO relocation support provided.

• Valid US work authorization required: H1, OPT, EAD, H4, or equivalent.

• Position is onsite in Fremont, CA.

• Must be available for onsite interview at 901 Page Avenue, Fremont, CA on Friday June 26, 2026 (10am–5pm). Candidates must bring their own laptop; interview includes a 45-minute coding review.

• Contract duration: 6 months, with potential to extend.

• Two rounds of onsite technical interview at Tesla's Fremont facility (June 26)
