Founding Growth Lead will own the full sales cycle for early customers, build repeatable growth playbooks (pricing, messaging, outbound), work directly with customers to feed product, establish relationships with security and compliance leaders, scale go-to-market motions, hire and manage a small sales/growth team, and own revenue and growth systems.

Role: Founding Growth Lead (0 to 1)

We're building Cimento AI to transform how organizations train their teams to think critically in high-pressure situations. Phishing simulations, social engineering attacks, and personalized training, all driven by AI. We're currently working in stealth, raised funds from t-1 investors, and have angels ranging from Cloudflare, Okta, Palo Alto Networks, Cursor, Groq, and many others.

Who You Might Be

This isn't a typical JD. You don't have to tick every box. But if a few of these feel too real, we want to meet you:

  • You've closed deals by ignoring the playbook your manager gave you.

  • You built a financial model in your first week at a new job that became the template for everyone else.

  • You've thought "I could run this better" more times than you'd like to admit.

  • You read earnings calls and customer reviews for fun, then connect dots nobody else sees.

  • You're the person friends ask for advice on negotiating offers, pricing products, or starting companies.

  • You don't trust "best practices," but you do trust first principles and unit economics.

  • IB/consulting taught you to work hard and think structurally. Now you want to build something, not just analyze it.

What You'll Do

In the first 6 months, you'll wear multiple hats. In the next 12, you'll define your own role:

Short term (Months 1-6):

  • Own the full sales cycle: source, qualify, demo, close, and onboard customers 10-50.

  • Build the early playbook: pricing experiments, messaging frameworks, sales collateral.

  • Work directly with customers to understand their pain, then feed that back into the product.

  • Run outbound campaigns, iterate on cold email copy, and find what converts.

  • Build relationships with security leaders, CISOs, and Compliance teams who need what we're building.

Medium term (Months 6-18):

  • Scale what's working: turn your best experiments into repeatable systems.

  • Lead growth strategy: define ICP, TAM, go-to-market motion, and expansion plays.

  • Hire and manage your first 2-3 team members (AEs, SDRs, or Growth PMs).

  • Own the revenue number and the systems that drive it.

Long term:

  • You define this. Sales leader? GM? Chief of Staff? Founder of your own thing eventually? All paths are open.

What We Value
  • Revenue solves everything: you get that growth covers a lot of sins, and you're allergic to excuses.

  • Builder mentality: you don't wait for tools, dashboards, or enablement. You build your own Clay scripts and build in automation using Cursor.

  • High agency: you find a way, or you make one. You don't need permission.

  • Intellectual honesty: you call out what's not working, even if you built it.

  • Truth-seeking over credentialism: we care more about your side hustle, newsletter, or that deal you closed against the odds than your pedigree.

Bonus Background

Great if you've done any of:

  • Sold B2B software, especially SaaS or cybersecurity

  • Worked on growth at an early-stage startup (pre-Series B)

  • Led a 0-1 project at a larger company and felt constrained

  • Built financial models, go-to-market plans, or pricing frameworks

  • Ran outbound campaigns with measurable results

  • Managed a P&L, built a business case, or launched something from scratch

Compensation and Benefits
  • Early-stage equity + competitive salary (we pay fairly, not FAANG-level, but enough that you're not stressed about rent)

  • Location: SLC preferred (in-person), but open to remote for the right person with travel flexibility

  • Relocation support if needed

  • Full health, unlimited PTO, zero bureaucracy

  • Work directly with founders. No layers, no politics, no theater.

How to Apply

Email zain at cimento.ai with:

  • A deal you closed, a project you led, or a business you started (even if it failed)

  • A few lines on why this resonates

  • Or just tell us the last rabbit hole you went down (market research, pricing teardown, competitive analysis, etc.)

We don't care about polish. We care about potential.

P.S. If you're reading this thinking "I could probably do this, but I've never done sales before"—that's exactly who we want to hear from. The best operators aren't always the ones with "Head of Sales" on their LinkedIn.

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
