The Role You Could Play

Core Technology at MECCA owns the enterprise and operational systems that support day-to-day operations and enable large-scale business transformation. Operating within the Technology Delivery function under the direction of the Test Lead, the SAP - QA Analyst plays a key role in delivering high-quality outcomes across both strategic initiatives and BAU releases, contributing to consistent, fit-for-purpose testing practices across MECCA’s technology landscape.

The SAP QA Analyst is responsible for preparing, executing, and documenting testing activities across system, integration and end-to-end testing, and supporting user acceptance testing.   Working closely with technology, delivery, and business stakeholders, the role focuses on hands-on testing execution, defect identification and escalation, and the application of risk-based and exploratory testing approaches.

As part of a collaborative testing team, the QA Analyst contributes to continuous improvement of testing practices, including the appropriate use of test automation, supports release confidence, and assists other team members as required to ensure resilient  , high-performing technology solutions for MECCA.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Review and analyse business, functional, and non-functional requirements, ensuring acceptance criteria are clear, testable, and aligned to agreed quality standards.
  • Design, maintain, and execute test cases and test data to provide appropriate coverage across functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, and user acceptance testing, applying risk-based and exploratory testing techniques where appropriate.
  • Identify, document, and manage defects through effective triage, prioritisation, and timely escalation of quality issues and risks.
  • Support the Test Lead in the planning, coordination, and reporting of testing activities across project initiatives and BAU releases, including contributions to test plans, test summaries, and status reporting.
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects, supporting artefacts such as the Requirements Traceability Matrix.
  • Collaborate with business, delivery, and technology stakeholders to provide testing input, clarify requirements, validate solutions, and support User Acceptance Testing.
  • Participate in delivery forums, contributing to estimation, planning, and delivery commitments from a testing perspective.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices, tools, and standards, supporting the embedding of consistent, fit-for-purpose quality approaches across MECCA.
  • Provide input into post-implementation reviews, identifying quality outcomes, defects, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support and mentor other QA Analysts as required, fostering collaboration and shared capability.
  • Contribute to the development, execution, and maintenance of automated test suites and frameworks, supporting regression testing and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support the Test Lead and wider team in improving automation capability, including scope definition, prioritisation, knowledge sharing, and uplift of automation practices.

What You Will Bring

You’ll be able to demonstrate:

  • Hands on experience with SAP is mandatory.
  • Proven experience as a QA Analyst supporting testing across complex systems or enterprise environments, including integration between internal environments and vendor platforms.
  • Experience planning, executing, and reporting on testing across system, integration, end-to-end, and regression testing.
  • Strong understanding of different technology testing, development, and delivery models, with the ability to apply testing pragmatically in line with business priorities and risk.
  • Confident using test and defect management tools (e.g. Jiram Zephyr or similar) to track testing progress and issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, investigate issues, and contribute to practical solutions.
  • Ability to analyse and validate data (using SQL or similar tools) to support testing and defect analysis.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to build strong working relationships with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Able to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in fast-paced delivery environments.
  • Collaborative, proactive team player with a strong focus on learning, improvement, and delivering quality outcomes.
