Company Overview

Intel 471 empowers enterprises, government agencies, and other organizations to win the cybersecurity war using the real-time insights about adversaries, their relationships, threat patterns, and imminent attacks relevant to their businesses. The company’s platform collects, interprets, structures, and validates human-led, automation-enhanced intelligence, which fuels our external attack surface and advanced behavioral threat hunting solutions. Customers utilize this operationalized intelligence to drive a proactive response to neutralize threats and mitigate risk. Organizations across the globe leverage Intel 471’s world-class intelligence, our trusted practitioner engagement and enablement, and globally-dispersed ground expertise as their frontline guardian against the ever-evolving landscape of cyber threats to fight the adversary — and win.

The Role

Intel 471 is looking for a proactive, adaptable QA Automation Engineer to support the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for a fast-moving product track. The role is remote, based in Europe, on a contract (B2B) basis.

We expect our engineers to work in an AI-augmented way. You should be comfortable using AI coding assistants (such as Claude / Claude Code or equivalent LLM-based tools) as part of your daily workflow to accelerate test creation, debug failures, refactor suites, and review coverage while keeping a critical eye on correctness, reliability, and security. We prioritize adaptability and the ability to extract value from AI-generated output over mastery of any single tool or framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to quality processes across the planning, development, and release stages of the SDLC.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to design, generate, validate, and maintain test assets at scale.
  • Review and critically evaluate AI-generated test output before it enters the repo  catching false positives, coverage gaps, and wrongful assertions.
  • Be able to judge the usefulness of AI vs on-hands testing
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end tests (UI, API, integration) and increase automation coverage for regression suites.
  • Collaborate with developers, product teams, and QA leadership to define quality standards and communicate risk clearly.
  • Adapt processes quickly in response to a changing product environment.

Education, Experience & Qualifications

Must-Have Technical Skills

  • 3+ years with Playwright and strong JavaScript / TypeScript / Node.js knowledge.
  • 3+ years testing REST APIs within a BDD (Cucumber) approach, using Python or Java.
  • Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing, exploration, and debugging.
  • Hands-on experience using AI assistants (Claude, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent) in a real engineering workflow, with a clear understanding of their strengths and limitations, and the ability to extract reliable, production-ready output.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and integrating automated test suites into pipelines.
  • Demonstrated, quantifiable impact from past QA work (time saved, defect catch rate, coverage improvement).

Must-Have Soft Skills

  • Very good English communication skills, written and spoken.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box on complex or ambiguous testing challenges.
  • Ability to estimate and manage your own time and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to communicate automation strategy, coverage, and results clearly with product stakeholders.
  • Proactive, curious approach  willing to learn and grow.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building or improving AI-assisted tooling (prompts, pipelines, generators).
  • Experience integrating AI tooling into QA processes (AI-assisted test generation, self-healing tests, LLM-based test data generation).
  • Experience with testing agents or test-focused MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and tooling.
  • Familiarity with Agile / Scrum environments.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation
  • Remote-friendly culture
  • Wellness programs
  • Employee recognition program
  • A variety of professional development opportunities
  • Inclusive culture focused on people, customers and innovation
