The Quality Assurance Engineer will collaborate with Engineering and Production Departments to ensure overall integrity and adherence to product specifications prior to product release and/or shipment. Key Responsibilities:
- Ownership of all aspects of Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
- Measure, test, evaluate, and document product performance to assure compliance with appropriate customer and company specifications including Verification, Validation and Qualification testing.
- Inspect products, perform failure and quality related analysis that relies on Quality and Manufacturing principles, including process management, statistical analysis, and human factors.
- Work with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, & signal generators.
- Plan the Quality workload, including scheduling and charting (including PERT/CPM, Pareto, Gantt, etc.), identification of resource requirements, risk, and oversee execution to the plan.
- Lead the resolution of customer and internal issues regarding product quality, with the aim of achieving zero defects.
- Conduct internal, ISO 13485 & 9001:2016, or supplier auditing when required.
- Support ISO 13485 & 9001:2016 certification and customer auditing.
- Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis to develop timely, appropriate responses and alternate solutions to customer product problems and questions, while generating formal reports and corrective actions.
- Lead continuous improvement and other initiatives which require cross functional team.
- Create and implement company policies, procedures, specifications, and end user documentation. Immediately correct all documents where the written document differs from the actual practice.
- Advise on and/or oversee the implementation of product development workflows and production workflows.
- Work with engineering to address hardware/software concerns /upgrades as needed.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- B.S. in Quality Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in quality assurance and/or control of video/audio hardware and systems.
- Expertise in concurrent Engineering and Process Management principles, and ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
- Solid working knowledge of video-specific test equipment
- Solid understanding and ability to identify and solve complex video and audio issues.
- Knowledgeable in high-speed video/audio/data transmission, digital video formats/specifications and products such as video analyzers, video scalers, video matrix switchers, video walls, etc.
- Knowledge of test methods, procedures, and equipment used to support the evaluation of our products, including mechanical, electrical, and environmental testing.
- Knowledge of hardware schematics.
- Ability to identify errors and anomalies and provide detailed reporting.
- Communicate changes in policies and procedures across departments in a clear, concise manner.
- Six Sigma Green belt certification preferred.
- Training in Lean/5S principles preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.
- Highly responsible, self-motivated, and able to thrive in an energetic, fast pace, high growth, entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong team player who can build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work with very little supervision, prioritize between multiple tasks, meet aggressive deadlines and work extended hours (as needed).
