Job Description

This role is expected to work with cross-functional teams (including Product Marketing, Informatics, Technical Product Management, Technical Architecture, Product Development, and Software Quality) to translate roadmap requirements to an operational plan and to ensure that the roadmap is executed.  This may also include research and data analysis tasks to better understand data content and alignment with requirements.  The role is also responsible for working with key stakeholders from across the company to bring a voice and story to the feature enhancement requests, new product features, and technical features that the team will develop, as well as prioritize feature development for each product release.


Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Create a vision for data analytics and reporting to drive customer outcomes

  • Develops and manages roadmaps through working and aligning with multiple stakeholders and prioritize short term deliverables for our data platform engineering team

  • Manage scope, balance trade-offs, define goals, set priorities and oversee a backlog of features from story to acceptance throughout the Agile software development lifecycle

  • Coordinate development efforts, timelines, deliverables with other product owners, project managers, program managers, and scrum masters

  • Collaborate with engineering, data science, and insurance leads and product owners on detailed and complex requirements with a solid technical understanding

  • Demonstrable experience in an agile team environment

  • Firm understanding of user-centered design practice

  • Understanding and ability to write user stories

  • Experienced in Lean Start-up methodologies

  • Proactively manages stakeholders’ expectations appropriately to ensure transparency

  • Acts as a leader and a key contributor in a complex environment. Technical Product Manager is a leadership role that has a high level of influence on the organization

  • Provides a positive image to the Team. This role has high visibility and often interacts with stakeholders

  • Demonstrates organizational and time management skills to stay on top of workstreams

  • Demonstrates knowledge of go-to-market needs to ensure successful product rollout and commercial excellence

  • Provides guidance and/or directs others to drive results

  • Analyzes customer needs and business challenges and recommends the appropriate future product and service directions

  • Stays on top of stakeholders’ concerns and top issues. Create a plan and align with stakeholders and cross-functional teams

  • Has depth and breadth of experience in own job family; integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities

  • Demonstrates advanced technology communication skills at the instructor level for all internal and external customers

  • Provides guidance to all levels of sales and marketing personnel on technology and industry-related issues

  • Analyzes potential partnerships and opportunities with third-party vendors

  • Applies in-depth skills and broad knowledge of the business to address complex problems and non-standard situations

  • May lead teams or projects; shares expertise

  • Effectively communicates the vision and business need for change to others and maintains a positive perspective

  • Quickly adapts to fluid situations and keeps focused on delivering on own goals/commitments

  • Acts as a champion of change by recognizing the impact of change on others and where they are in the change process, and coaching them through the transition

  • Serves as a role model in aligning own priorities/activities with those of others and with functional goals

  • Anticipates and overcomes obstacles with a pragmatic approach to achieve complex/multi-dimensional goals/commitments

  • Manages costs for specific projects, assessing the financial implication of decisions

  • Demonstrates awareness of how own words and actions are perceived by others and adjusts behavior and work style accordingly

  • Role models the ability to regulate own emotions, maintain composure and productivity in stressful situations


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Biomedical or related field required

  • Strong understanding of software development in at least two of the following areas: cloud-based infrastructure and data management technologies, API and back end services, AI, analytics

  • 5+ years related work experience required as a Product Manager, Product Owner, and/or Requirements Analysis

  • 5+ years experience in a similar/complementary role for a cloud-based or software-as-a-service product line

  • Comfortable with a multi-stakeholder environment, creating consensus, and making timely decisions as needed

  • A high degree of analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication skills and well organized
