POSITION SUMMARY 

KKR is looking for an Investment Data Operations Analyst to join its growing data management group within the Global Data Operations vertical. This role sits within the Investment Data Operations (IDO) team and supports the broader enterprise, with primary coverage across Credit and Insurance strategies. 

This position is based in San Francisco and reports to the VP of Investment Data Operations. 

The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in security master and daily pricing operations, particularly supporting debt instruments and bank loans. This is a hands-on, execution-oriented role focused first and foremost on accurate asset setup and daily pricing controls, with exposure to broader data initiatives over time. 

The candidate should have 1–3 years of experience in investment operations, preferably within an alternative investment firm, insurance company, or fund administrator. A strong understanding of middle- and back-office workflows, particularly how security master and pricing data impact accounting, risk, and reporting, is important. 

This role requires a detail-oriented individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, willing to grind through operational workflows, and able to independently investigate and resolve data issues. The ideal candidate will also be technically curious, comfortable working directly with data in SQL-based environments and interested in leveraging automation and AI tools to improve operational efficiency. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential for working across global teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Create securities in the security master system and maintain updates to the security record throughout the lifecycle of the instrument
  • Perform accurate asset setup across credit instruments, including bank loans, bonds, and structured products
  • Manage daily pricing for all securities; perform price validation checks, investigate exceptions, and coordinate with vendors on pricing coverage and challenges
  • Maintain consistent, accurate, and complete security master data across OMS, accounting, and risk systems by executing routine and targeted data maintenance tasks
  • Support automation and efficiency initiatives, including responsible use of AI tools to streamline operational processes
  • Resolve data breaks and support downstream teams (Accounting, Risk, Compliance, Client Reporting) with pricing and reference data inquiries
  • Design, document, and execute data management processes under established governance frameworks
  • In conjunction with IT, support specifications, testing, and enhancements to tools and applications used to maintain data integrity
  • Identify areas of operational risk within asset setup and pricing workflows and escalate issues appropriately
  • Execute assigned data-related initiatives and projects, with primary responsibility focused on operational execution

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1–3 years of experience in security master setup, reference data management, or pricing operations
  • Experience supporting credit instruments, particularly bank loans, asset backed assets. 
  • Experience within an alternative investment firm, insurance firm, or fund administrator preferred
  • Strong comfort working directly with data and performing reconciliations across large datasets
  • Understanding of how security master and pricing data impact accounting, NAV, and risk reporting
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under time constraints
  • Organized with the ability to manage recurring operational processes in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team-oriented with strong integrity and professionalism
  • Demonstrated curiosity around automation and AI tools, with a willingness to incorporate technology to improve workflows
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves, be scrappy, and take ownership of day-to-day operational responsibilities

 

IDEAL EXPERIENCE 

  • Knowledge of Security Master characteristics of Bank Debt, Bonds, and ABS
  • Familiarity with pricing vendors and pricing validation workflows
  • Exposure to trade processing and settlement preferred
  • Exposure to data governance concepts and operational control frameworks
  • Experience leveraging automation, scripting, or AI tools to improve operational efficiency

This is the expected annual base salary range for this San Francisco-based position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
Base Salary Range
$80,000$105,000 USD
