Job Description

The Regional Director of Operations (RDO) is a director level, operational leader responsible for overseeing all non-instructional and business operations across a designated region of schools. This role supports schools in the South Region and serves as the primary operational coach, strategist, and accountability partner for campus-based Dean of Operations (DOOs) and operations staff.


The RDO ensures operational excellence across all schools by driving strong systems, compliance, enrollment execution, facilities readiness, and exceptional customer service. This leader partners closely with principals and network leadership to support school performance, regional growth, and organizational sustainability.


The ideal candidate is a highly organized, solutions-oriented leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, can manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and is passionate about building strong school operations teams that support student achievement.


Key Activities

Operational Leadership & Coaching

  • Monitor regional student recruitment, enrollment, and retention performance metrics
  • Partner with school leaders to ensure schools meet or exceed enrollment targets during FTE1 and FTE2
  • Support campuses with recruitment strategy implementation, enrollment forecasting, and action planning
  • Analyze enrollment dashboards and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Ensure schools provide exceptional customer service and positive family experiences from inquiry through enrollment
  • Collaborate with enrollment teams to improve conversion rates, student onboarding, and retention efforts

Recruitment, Enrollment & Family Experience

  • Provide guidance, accountability, and best practices to campus-based recruiters and enrollment teams.
  • Review enrollment dashboards and identify campuses needing additional recruitment support.


  • Partner with school leaders to develop action plans to improve recruitment outcomes and enrollment growth.
  • Support training and onboarding of new recruiters and front office staff related to enrollment processes and family experience.
  • Assist regional leadership with enrollment reporting, projections, and recruitment strategy implementation.


Financial Stewardship & Business Operations

  • Support schools in managing operational budgets, purchasing processes, and financial controls
  • Monitor operational expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational priorities
  • Review vendor management practices across schools
  • Ensure campuses follow organizational procurement procedures and compliance expectations

Facilities, Logistics & Compliance

  • Lead Beginning-of-Year (BOY) operational readiness planning for all regional schools
  • Oversee transportation (if applicable), child nutrition (NSLP), facilities readiness, safety procedures, and vendor coordination
  • Support facility improvement planning, maintenance coordination, and campus operational audits
  • Facilitate site evaluations, expansion planning, and land acquisition efforts to support regional growth initiatives
  • Support emergency response planning, crisis management, and safety preparedness across all schools ties.

  • Regional schools meet operational compliance expectations and achieve strong audit readiness outcomes
  • Schools successfully execute Beginning-of-Year readiness with minimal operational disruptions
  • Improve operational consistency and accountability across all South Region campuses
  • Meet or exceed regional enrollment and retention targets during FTE1 and FTE2
  • Strengthen campus operational leadership through coaching, training, and performance management
  • Improve operational systems related to transportation, food service, procurement, and facilities management
  • Establish strong operational dashboards and KPI monitoring systems for the region
  • Successfully support regional growth initiatives, facility planning, and expansion opportunities
  • Increase principal satisfaction related to operational support and responsiveness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5–8+ years of operations leadership experience, preferably in K–12 education, charter schools, multi-site operations, or district support environments
  • Strong knowledge of school operations, enrollment systems, facilities, budgeting, and vendor management
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the South Region of Florida

 

Background Screening Requirement 
This position requires successful completion of a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse, in accordance with House Bill 531 (2025).
