Summary: The Regional EHS Manager will manage the hands-on development and execution of a structured and comprehensive framework overseeing Aligned’s safety, risk management and business resilience programs and initiatives. Working closely with our VP, EHS and other key internal and external stakeholders, this role is responsible for cultivating and maintaining effective working relationships across Aligned’s portfolio in support of our rapid growth and in driving a Best-in-Class Safety program.    

This position must be based in Phoenix, AZ 

This position will require flexibility in work hours. With multiple projects across the western U.S., the Safety Manager may be required to work overtime, weekends, and nights on occasion with expected travel up to 25%.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform site visits, inspections, audits, and reviews to identify EHS management gaps, develop corrective measures, and implement solutions to sustain compliance with EHS law and company EHS strategies, policies, and standards. Leverage lessons learned and key performance indicators to implement continuous improvement actions across the SW region both for data center construction projects and existing data center operations.
  • Possess tactical and strategic leadership and direction and works well with limited supervision while being responsible for compliance assurance, risk mitigation, injury prevention, and environmental management.
  • Perform site safety assessments and compliance management reviews and report on EHS performance and tactical and strategic improvement planning with general contractors and sub-tier contractors both for Aligned construction projects and data center operations.
  • Review incident reporting to ensure appropriate root-cause analysis (RCA) has been conducted, and corrective actions have been implemented.
  • Work closely with the VP of EHS and other regional safety managers to develop EHS programs, processes, means, and methods in the prevention of injury and the promotion of a positive and progressive safety culture at all Aligned projects and operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The following outlines Aligned Data Centers' minimum qualifications and selection criteria for the Regional EHS Manager:

  • Candidates must have a minimum career experience of at least seven (7) years that have been dedicated in an EHS role to commercial building or data center construction/operations.
  • The candidate must have demonstrated management and leadership skills with the ability to communicate with all stakeholders effectively and clearly.
  • The candidate must have practical knowledge and working experience in the following:
    • Confined Space
    • Crane/Equipment Operations
    • Electrical Safety/Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO)
    • Excavations
    • Fall Protection
    • Scaffolds
  • Possess Board Certified of Safety Professional (BSCP) certification which includes at least one in the following categories:
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
    • Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
    • Construction Health and Safety Technologist (CHST).
