About the Job
The Regional Lead for Marketing & Communications is responsible for developing and delivering market activation plans in collaboration with the Regional Director and their team of Partnership Managers in support of regional growth objectives. There are four regions, headed by a Regional Director each with a number of sub-regions.
Responsibilities- Lead the Marketing and Communications team embedded in the region, providing mentorship, support and guidance to support team development, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and creativity
- Ensure that all marketing and communication activities are executed efficiently and effectively, with a focus on achieving measurable and effective outcomes. This includes managing budgets, tracking lead conversion and other performance metrics, and making data-informed decisions to optimize marketing efforts and resource allocation.
- Embed market and customer orientation with effective feedback loops to colleagues operating at a global level across scope of marketing and communications and in other regions to enhance overall quality of outputs.
- Oversee the planning and execution of targeted search, paid advertising campaigns and remarketing activity to drive local market interest coordinating with global colleagues to maximise VfM/ROI
- Plan and oversee the delivery of a programme of IB run events (physical and virtual) to drive local market interest
Optimize IB presence at nationally relevant events where IB is sponsor/exhibitor - Oversee the planning and delivery of targeted activity and events to deepen community commitment and drive cohort growth
- Put in place a planned schedule of emails to nurture leads from prospects to active considerers making effective use of available templates and content
- Work with colleagues to proactively identify, create, collect, capture, curate and distribute compelling stories and content from across the region, including during school visits and events, using a range of formats (written, photo, video, audio) to showcase how the IB is unlocking partnerships, nurturing vibrant communities and enhancing its reputation for enriching the lives of learners and educators
- Lead the creation of effective, compelling positioning, messaging, and sales tools (market‐facing webinars, whitepapers, etc.) that are understood and used by colleagues to highlight benefits of IB products and services to customers and by schools to communicate with their stakeholders including parents
- Support regional external communications efforts, as needed, in coordination with the global External Communications team, including identifying or facilitating media opportunities where appropriate, and ensuring alignment with IB messaging and protocols
- Degree qualified with Masters qualification a plus
- Extensive years of experience in marketing/communications management
- Experience of marketing/communications in an educational context a plus
- An agile problem solver with an understanding of how to operate in a resource constrained environment
- Able to build collaborative relationships and followship to get things done
- Outstanding communication skills, especially listening
- Displays a ‘Yes and’ attitude, openness to cooperation and input, and yet robust enough to address challenges along the way
- Affinity with the not for profit sector, seeing the mission as motivation, the values as inspiration not constraints
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to influence beyond authority and establish trust
- Experienced in designing and implementing successful marketing/communications campaigns and activities in different cultural contexts
- Proven track record of success in meeting organizational growth targets
