The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for leading a field-based team who sells and retains membership to clients of all sizes within an assigned Group Market. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for directly managing business relationships with employer group clients, agents, and consultants in a market while leading a team of Group Sales Representatives. Cross departmental collaboration, consistent process improvement, maintaining an engaged culture and a focus on goal attainment are key skills for this role.

The Regional Producing Manager is responsible for directly managing business relationships with employer group clients, agents, and consultants in a market while leading a team of Group Sales Representatives. Cross departmental collaboration, consistent process improvement, maintaining an engaged culture and a focus on goal attainment are key skills for this role.  The Regional Producing Manager includes a personal production requirement, in addition to the leadership responsibilities.

 

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct, attend, and manage local and sales operations meetings in order to provide sales development, teamwork, market strategies and training to local market team.  
  • Communicate and monitor sales results, trends and overall performance to hold the Sales team accountable for achieving identified targets. 
  • Develop market-specific strategies to optimize Humana’s pursuit tactics. 
  • Leads a team of Ancillary Sales Executives and Ancillary Small Business Representatives.
  • Ensures the smooth transition of large clients between the New Sales and Client Management teams. 
  • Ensure timely delivery of prospect communication, contracts and reporting.  
  • Develop, strengthen and maintain relationships with national, regional and local firms.  
  • Serve as a key contributor on local market insights to the Group Growth Strategy.
  • Provide customer, broker and partner insights that will inform the advancement of capabilities to improve sales performance, efficacy and productivity, while also driving competitive differentiation in the local specialty marketplace. 
  • Provide input to network leaders to refine network investments and team expansion at the market- level. 
  • Works collaboratively with various functional areas including Sales, Underwriting, Finance, Account Installation, Corporate Affairs, Marketing and Product development, Network and Account Service to meet objectives. 
  • Identify and communicate the need for improvements in Humana’s products and services. 
  • Understanding of market dynamics: competition, influencers, trends, history. 
  • Understands and communicates national and local strategies, goals, initiatives, process updates and operating principles. 
  • Develop team in key areas such as presentation skills, relationship management, reporting, analytics, implementation and local market dynamics. 
  • Builds the Humana Brand across the market in conjunction with outside organizations and key constituents.  
  • Identify other strategic relationships in the market and develop those circles of influence to drive business to Humana, Inc. 
  • The Regional Producing Manager develops and maintains relationships with all-sized accounts.
  • Focuses on personal sales targets and troubleshoots specific customer problems.
  • Meets targets through cultivation of new client relationships and development of productive relationships with existing clients.
  • Maximizes revenues from sales of the organization's products and/or services through a base of reseller partners in specific assigned channels and/or vertical markets.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ consultative selling experience in Group Ancillary Benefits and/or Account Management
  • Communication skills that engender confidence and trust across levels of leadership
  • Experience leading a Sales and/or Account Management team.
  • Demonstrated ability in building relationships with brokers, consultants, and employer groups.
  • Understanding of competitive landscape in local market.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate in a positive manner.
  • Being able to flex between high level oversight and ability to meet growth targets
  • Valid State Health and Life insurance licenses.
  • This role is part of Humana's Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance

Additional Information

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.

·       Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

·       Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

·       Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

·       Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$102,500 - $139,700 per year


 

This job is eligible for a commission incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
