What You’ll Do

  • Own sales growth for Automated Genotyping and our Suite of Services, including Microbiome, Genetic Monitoring, and Colony Solutions, in your designated Canadian territory.
  • Hunt and secure adoption of all services in large laboratories, including Automated Genotyping and Colony solutions.
  • Work closely with the Regional Sales Director to build and execute a territory sales strategy that meets or exceeds revenue goals.
  • Partner with our Regional Account Management team to achieve targeted genotyping revenue growth and adoption of Artificial Mouse Intelligence (AMI) across your customer base.
  • Develop and service new and existing business in academic research institutions in a professional, ethical, and persuasive manner.
  • Meet activity expectations (e.g., ~20 new meetings per week, virtual and in‑person) and maintain a healthy, well‑qualified pipeline.
  • Upsell and cross‑sell existing customers into Microbiome, Genetic Monitoring, Artificial Mouse Intelligence (AMI) and additional diagnostic tests.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams (Product Specialists, Field Specialists, Customer Solutions, Genetic Resolutions, Marketing).
  • Represent Transnetyx at Canadian and North American academic conferences, trade shows, and marketing events.
  • Research and analyse market trends, funding environments, and customer needs to identify opportunities within your territory.
  • Record customer profiles, activities, and opportunities in Salesforce with accuracy and discipline.
Qualifications

What You Bring (Non‑Negotiables)

  • Canadian citizen with the ability to travel freely within Canada and occasionally to the United States.
  • Fluent French speaker, preferably with Québec French proficiency, and strong professional English.
  • Proven science sales background – for example, selling life science tools, lab services, diagnostics, or related technologies.

Experience & Education

  • Ideally 5–10 years of successful B2B or field sales experience, strong preference in Life Sciences or a closely related technical area.
  • Experience selling into laboratory or academic research environments is highly beneficial and will be prioritised.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Comfortable navigating complex research ecosystems, funding cycles, and multi‑stakeholder buying groups.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools; Salesforce experience is an asset.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to build trust with researchers, lab managers, and institutional decision‑makers in both French and English.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to adapt style to Canadian francophone and anglophone audiences.
  • Approachable, service‑oriented, and collaborative across all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic and analytical, with strong time‑management and organizational skills; able to prioritize effectively in a large territory.
  • Resilient, energetic, and adaptable; comfortable working independently in the field while staying closely connected to a virtual team.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, personal drive, and initiative, with a track record of meeting or exceeding ambitious sales targets.

Compensation & Rewards

  • Contract term: 12 months, with option to renew based on business needs and performance.
  • Base salary range: 150,000–170,000 CAD annually, depending on location and experience.
  • Variable compensation: target commissions of 50,000–55,000 CAD per year at plan, with upside based on overachievement.

Travel & Work Environment

  • Field‑based role with extensive travel within your Canadian territory (up to ~60% of the time), including regular visits to institutions and other key research hubs.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and travel for prolonged periods, including air and ground travel.
