About the Role

As a Regional Sales Manager – Midwest at Zekelman Industries, Wheatland Tube Electrical division, this role plays a key part in driving regional revenue growth, expanding market share, and strengthening customer relationships across the Midwest territory. This position focuses on developing and executing strategic sales initiatives, managing an independent sales representative network, and building strong partnerships with distributors and contractors to increase profitable demand.

This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and relationship-building capabilities, offering the opportunity to directly contribute to market expansion and long-term business success.

This role collaborates closely with independent sales agents, internal sales teams, product management, and key customer accounts, ensuring alignment with division goals and consistent execution of regional strategies. This is a remote role located in the Midwest region, with regular travel (75%) required throughout the territory.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage independent sales representative network and key accounts to maximize regional market penetration and profitability

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with division goals and objectives

  • Identify new sales opportunities through market research, customer engagement, and industry insights

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, contractors, and end users to drive business growth

  • Prepare and analyze sales reports to track regional performance against targets and prior year results

  • Collaborate with sales representatives to ensure appropriate pricing strategies for stock and project business

  • Represent the organization at industry trade shows, exhibitions, and customer events

  • Monitor competitive activity and market trends, providing insights and recommendations to leadership

  • Recommend product enhancements based on customer feedback and market demand

  • Hire, coach, develop, and evaluate performance of sales representatives and agents

  • Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy

  • Perform other duties as assigned
     

Who You Are

  • 7+ years of sales experience, preferably within manufacturing, electrical, or industrial products

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field

  • Technical Skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to analyze sales data and reports

  • Sales Expertise – Strong understanding of sales processes, territory management, and channel development

  • Communication Skills – Strong written and verbal communication with ability to influence stakeholders

  • Customer Focus – Proven ability to build relationships and deliver exceptional customer service

  • Analytical Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical, financial, and legal documents

  • Leadership Skills – Experience managing or influencing sales teams or independent representatives

  • Additional Qualifications – Ability to travel regularly within the Midwest region (75% travel required)

Compensation & Benefits

Below is the expected base salary range for this position. This is a good-faith estimate, and offers will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance.

Base Salary Range:
[$130,000—$150,000 USD]

Additional compensation may include:
✔ Performance-based yearly merit increase
✔ Profit-sharing bonus opportunities
