Role Summary

Under direct supervision, the Regional Sales Representative I is responsible for supporting direct sales of Flow International Corporation's products and assisting distributor partners within an assigned geographic territory. This role involves executing sales activities, supporting technical demonstrations, and helping drive revenue growth while maintaining strong customer and distributor relationships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Regional Business Manager (RBM) and assign distributors with sales activities and account support.
  • Deliver formal sales presentations as directed by the RSM.
  • Support or lead technical product demonstrations, including preparation, machine setup and operation, application coordination, teardown, cleaning, and sample reporting/shipping.
  • Conduct portions of the sales process for designated prospects, which may include initial outreach, needs assessment, sample cutting, product presentations, ROI analysis, and potentially assisting in closing the sale.
  • Foster and maintain professional relationships with assigned distributors.
  • Provide relevant sales and marketing insights to Flow stakeholders, such as competitor information and market trends.
  • Visit prospective customers to deliver presentations, offer technical assistance, or support pre-sales activities, as assigned by the RSM.
  • Although not a technical service position, the representative may occasionally assist with site readiness visits, customer application support, or service recommendations to strengthen customer relationships.

TRAVEL: Up to 70%

QUALIFICATIONS: 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:  

  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Understanding of, or ability to learn about applications for waterjet cutting, laser cutting, and press brakes.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for customer visits, demonstrations, and support.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering preferred but not required.
  • Previous Experience in sales, service, marketing, or within manufacturing, fabrication, and/or machine shops is a plus.
  • Previous experience with CNC Machinery or CAD software is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Base Compensation: $55,000-$70,000 depending on experience, plus commission
