About This Role
As the Regulatory Compliance Strategist, you are the guardian of TrueML’s license to operate. Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer, you will own the operational execution of our licensing, regulatory complaints, and regulatory audit programs. This isn't just a maintenance role - you will be the strategic engine that integrates new acquisitions, leveraging AI and innovative tech-tools in our compliance framework and modernizing our workflows to stay ahead of state and federal requirements. Your mission is to ensure that as we scale, our integrity and regulatory standing remain bulletproof.
What You'll Do:
- Own the License to Operate: Take complete end-to-end oversight of our regulatory licensing programs, ensuring every submittal and renewal is executed timely with 100% accuracy.
- Master Regulatory Narratives: Lead our high-volume regulatory complaint process with a mandate to continuously innovate and automate. You will investigate complex consumer issues, draft formal responses, and refine our templated language to ensure we always meet the highest standards of the CFPB and other regulators.
- Orchestrate Regulatory Audits: Act as the lead investigator during regulatory audits. You will gather evidence, draft formal communications, and enhance the submission lifecycle towards a “continuous audit” model by utilizing data visualization and automated evidence-gathering tools to ensure a seamless "audit-ready" experience.
- Drive Program Evolution: Move beyond manual tracking by identifying bottlenecks and implementing tech-driven efficiencies. You will help evolve our use of tools like AuditBoard and Jira to automate routine compliance tasks.
- Manage External Alliances: Serve as the primary liaison for licensing vendors and state regulators, building the professional relationships necessary to navigate complex filing requirements smoothly.
- Deliver Data Intelligence: Create and maintain high-impact dashboards that translate complaint trends and audit findings into actionable insights for executive leadership.
- Close the Loop on Risk: Take ownership of audit remediation, ensuring that every finding results in a permanent process improvement reflected in our risk registries.
Who You Are:
- An AI First Innovator: You don’t just use tools; you master them to automate the mundane. You are an early adopter who thrives on finding "no-code" or automated solutions to complex problems.
- A Strategic Thinker: You don't just follow a checklist; you look 2-4 steps ahead. You have a proven ability to anticipate regulatory hurdles and build the processes to clear them before they become issues.
- A Compliance Veteran: You bring 5+ years of experience in a structured, process-oriented environment (Compliance or Audit), specifically within a highly regulated industry like consumer financial services or collections.
- An Independent Operator: You are comfortable taking full ownership of a project from conception to completion, working autonomously while still building strong cross-functional bridges.
- An Articulate Communicator: You possess superior writing skills, capable of drafting nuanced regulatory responses that are firm, accurate, and professional.
- Tech-Savvy & Analytical: You are proficient with Google Suite and Mac systems, and you have a major leg up if you’ve used Jira, AuditBoard, or the CFPB complaint portal. You are comfortable leaning into and exploring new tech to ensure TrueAccord stays ahead of the curve with its internal tools to help the business scale.
- Unwavering in Integrity: You have an "eagle eye" for detail and an unshakeable ethical compass when handling sensitive litigation, audit, and consumer data.
