This is a hybrid role. Office attendance is required at least twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays for collaboration and connection. There may be additional in-office days for team or company events.

About the Role:

The Release Engineer has two primary responsibilities:

1. Enhance the end-to-end build and deployment pipelines, ensuring reliable, repeatable, and well-instrumented deployments across environments through automation, tooling improvements, and proactive issue resolution.

2. Partner closely with Engineering, QE, and Product to plan, coordinate, and execute releases — managing risk, validating readiness, maintaining visibility into changes, and driving continuous enhancements to release processes and infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage the weekly code deployment process, including:

    • Coordinate the testing and verification work with QE & Devs for deployment signoff

    • Manage the merges and branch promotions as part of the deployment process

    • Ensure all of the Post-deploy verifications are complete and are closed out

    • Understand and communicate the deployment and release calendars to ensure EPD knows when and where to merge changes and features are released on schedule

  • Coordinate the release process, including:

    • Maintain and update release calendar for deployments and releases

    • Manage all release items and coordination in Jira/Asana

    • Coordinate and manage feature flags related to releases

      • Communicate feature flag states for upcoming releases

      • Update flag states on Staging/Production stacks

      • Prepare flag testing preparation with Engineering

    • Facilitate go/no go decisions

  • Manage hotfix deployment and incident reporting, including:

    • Manage reporting and incident tracking

    • Derive and report on metrics related to release quality and cleanliness

  • Cross-functional partnership and communication, including:

  • Partner with DevEx to build deployment/release dashboards and tracking quality metrics

  • Partner with GTM team to ensure alignment on timelines to prepare external communications, internal enablement, and coordinated preparation for launches

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in a release management/engineering or related role

  • Experience with Agile methodologies, continuous integration and development tools (CI/CD) for a SaaS product (Docker, Kubernetes, GCP/AWS, Terraform, CircleCI, ArgoCD)

  • Experience with full-stack observability platforms like Splunk, Datadog, Sentry

  • Ability to demonstrate strong interest in automation and continuous improvement (build, test, release/deploy, monitoring, reporting), which includes Infrastructure as Code

  • Project Management experience and planning mindset - experience in managing projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.

  • Proficient in using Git for version control systems and branch management

  • Strong and clear communication skills - Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including development teams, QE teams, and business units

  • Ability to analyze and improve release processes for efficiency and effectiveness

  • Jira/Confluence or Linear administrator experience - creating automations, dashboards, workflows etc.

  • Experience leveraging AI-powered tooling (e.g., code assistants, log analysis, anomaly detection, workflow automation) to improve release reliability, accelerate root-cause analysis, and reduce manual overhead

We encourage candidates to apply even if they do not meet every qualification listed. Skills can grow, and we value diverse perspectives and experiences.
