MongoDB is looking for a driven and results-oriented Renewal Specialist to join our North America Renewals Team supporting Public Sector. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering a world-class renewal experience for our Public Sector customers while driving strong retention outcomes for MongoDB’s business.

Success in this role requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, operational excellence, deal formulation and negotiation experience, a strong aptitude to learn MongoDB products and policy, and solid relationships with internal stakeholders. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As a Renewals Specialist at MongoDB, you will be responsible for managing the renewal process for our Public Sector customer base, ensuring the seamless continuation of their partnerships with MongoDB while maintaining strong customer relationships and retention outcomes. You will work closely with Sales, Customer Success, Legal, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to navigate the unique procurement, contracting, and compliance requirements associated with Public Sector customers.

RENEWAL MANAGEMENT

  • Proactively manage the end-to-end renewal process for assigned Public Sector accounts, owning timelines, coordination, and execution to drive strong retention and renewal outcomes
  • Understand the unique considerations associated with government and Public Sector customers, including procurement requirements, contracting processes, budget cycles, and compliance considerations.
  • Engage customers approximately 120 days in advance of renewal to understand requirements, establish timelines, and proactively address potential obstacles to renewal.
  • Prepare renewal quotes, order forms, and contracts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with MongoDB policies and applicable Public Sector requirements.
  • Navigate longer and more complex procurement cycles, coordinating closely with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure renewals are completed within required timelines.
  • Partner with account executives and other sales stakeholders to identify opportunities for expansion, consolidation, or changes to existing agreements.
  • Maintain accurate renewal forecasts and ensure CRM data reflects the latest customer, commercial, and procurement status.

DATA ANALYSIS & FORECASTING

  • Utilize CRM, reporting, and other data tools to track renewal performance, forecast outcomes, and identify at-risk accounts.
  • Monitor renewal timelines, customer engagement, procurement milestones, and other indicators to proactively manage the Public Sector renewal portfolio.
  • Provide regular updates to management on renewal status, risks, opportunities, and key performance metrics.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION

  • Work closely with Sales, Customer Success, Legal, Finance, Deal Desk, and other internal stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to Public Sector renewals.
  • Partner with Public Sector sales teams to align on account strategy, customer engagement, commercial terms, and renewal execution.
  • Coordinate internal resources to address customer-specific contracting, procurement, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Help establish repeatable processes and best practices for managing the unique complexities of Public Sector renewals.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH:

  • 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing sales, renewals, account management, or revenue role within a fast-paced, competitive environment.
  • Demonstrated experience owning deals or commercial outcomes through close, including renewals, expansions, or contract execution.
  • Experience working with Public Sector, government, education, or other highly regulated customers
  • Familiarity with Public Sector procurement processes, contracting requirements, government buying cycles, or cooperative purchasing vehicles is a plus.
  • A track record of strong performance against defined targets, metrics, or goals.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to a diverse audience, both internally and externally.
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, project management, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent renewals with varying levels of complexity while maintaining attention to detail and meeting critical deadlines.
  • Talent for building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, sales teams, procurement teams, and cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to navigate complex processes and proactively identify and resolve obstacles to successful renewal execution.
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive to succeed and the ability to operate effectively in an evolving environment.
  • Prior exposure to database, cloud, infrastructure, or enterprise technology is a plus.

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

$66,560—$66,560 USD
