Job Summary

BioLegend is seeking a motivated individual to join our product development team and support the creation and commercialization of ELISpot, ELISA, and other immunoassay products aligned with our strategic objectives. In this role, you will drive new assay development from concept through completion, ensuring smooth transfer to Quality Control, Manufacturing, and Sales & Marketing. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work independently after training, and a proactive, results‑driven mindset.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, growing biotech environment and contribute directly to the expansion of our immunoassay portfolio.

*We are considering Research Associate candidates at Levels I and II.

Essential Functions

  • Under guidance of senior personnel, design and conduct research and experiments in feasibility, optimization, and validation for ELISpot/ELISA product development.
  • Support ELISpot/ELISA assay troubleshooting, root cause analysis, process improvement.
  • Complete all documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures, DMRs, project records, and product instructions, required for new product launch.
  • Provide data driven updates and collaborate with ELISpot/ELISA Manufacturing and QC teams throughout the product development process.
  • Prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.
  • Conduct project-related information searches and literature searches.
  • Operate lab instruments according to procedures. Prepare reagents as required
  • Contribute to scientific discussions and collaborations and present results.
  • Apply knowledge of scientific principles and concepts to the design, development, and execution of experiments.
  • Other projects or responsibilities as may be required.

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience

  • BS or MS in Biological Sciences (e.g. biology, biotechnology, immunology, cell biology, biochemistry), or related field

Preferred Qualifications – Education and Experience

  • Working knowledge of immunoassay methods used for protein analysis such as biomarkers, with hands-on experience in immunoassay development and optimization or other functional assays preferred.  
  • Working experience in a manufacturing or product development setting in compliance with ISO9001/ISO14835 standards would be a plus.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent written and oral communications.
  • Enthusiasm, attention to detail, the ability to meet aggressive deadlines, and ability to work effectively with others in a fast paced, highly-productive environment.

Work Environment & Physical Demands -Lab
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. Occasional exposure to a warehouse environment.

The hourly pay for this position will vary by level, as we are open to considering candidates at Levels I or II depending on experience and qualifications. Each level has a corresponding range that reflects the appropriate scope of responsibilities and expectations. The anticipated hourly range for this role is $23.00–$30.77/hour. ​ The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
