We’re looking for a Research Data Scientist to join the team! In this role, you will work in a fast-paced environment, with diverse data sets and technologies to produce production quality, scalable, automated solutions to a diverse set of challenging data problems. You will have the freedom to utilize the latest technologies to solve challenging problems, create innovative applications from the ground up and understand exactly what it takes to create a reliable online experience for our customers. This role collaborates closely with our technology and client-facing teams to optimize our business, with the ultimate goal of helping Tatari redefine marketing analytics for tv and streaming video media buying.

Description:

  • Collaborating closely with our engineering and technology teams, the Data Scientist will build predictive models, measurement algorithms, and deep analyses to provide insights for optimizing our business.
  • Specifically, the job duties will include the following:
    • Applying fluent understanding of state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to build predictive models and recommender systems;
    • Applying deep understanding of statistics and probability to devise improvements to existing algorithms;
    • Contributing to developing and maintaining internal analysis software libraries;
    • Developing new intellectual property; 
    • Analyzing large amounts of data to identify relationships and trends, translating them into actionable insights for our product team and clients;
    • Reporting findings, both orally and in writing

Qualifications: 

  • Masters’ degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, etc.)
  • Advanced experience in data manipulation tools (e.g., Python, pandas, pyspark, SQL) 
  • Deep knowledge of statistics, probability, and machine learning techniques
  • Experience building/testing/validating ML models using state-of-the-art tech
  • Strong background designing and developing software to implement advanced analytic algorithms
  • A quick learner, with the ability to work independently and adaptably in a fast-paced environment
  • Strengths in creativity & open-ended problem-solving-- able to identify what's important (and not important) to focus on in order to construct effective approaches to challenging problems
  • Strong strategic thinking capabilities and project management skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Nice to have:
    • PhD in a technical field
    • Industry experience with development and deployment of predictive models or recommendation systems
