About this opportunity:
We are seeking a full-time intern on-site to pursue independent research, including the following:
• Identify and advance AI/ML techniques to be used for improving training of ML models/development of AI systems Identify and advance AI/ML techniques to improve the end-to-end lifecycle management of AI systems, including data ingestion and storage, model training, inference, deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and retraining.• Use off-the-shelf tools, (potentially developing a novel proof of concept) to implement and test the solution on a telecom use-case and quantify the end-to-end operational gains when applied to telecom use cases.
What you will do:
• Develop novel concepts, solutions, simulation tools, and algorithms • Analyze and interpret results; iterate on approaches as needed• Document work in a final technical report, academic publication or invention disclosure if suitable• Collaborate closely with Ericsson researchers
This internship will explore the development of innovative applied AI/ML techniques in the wireless communications domain. In particular, we will focus on leveraging tools and systems that take advantage of sparse, energy-efficient and distributed architectures to bring your comparable gains for various telecom specific use-cases.
The skills you bring:
• Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field• Knowledge and familiarity with certain areas of AI/ML such as foundation models, distributed machine learning, agentic AI, and their application to the telecommunications domain• Ability to prototype and demonstrate research results using assets such as networking simulators, AI/ML open-source libraries, etc.
