We are seeking a Robotics engineer whose work will help us deliver our smart automation solutions into customer hands. OSARO combines its software and advanced machine learning with the services and industry expertise needed to deliver improved sight and skill to existing robot applications, while enabling new applications for the factories and warehouses of the future. Our products endow industrial robots with the level of autonomy needed to perform an extensive variety of pick and place tasks and integrate tightly with our customers’ complex software environments.

As a Robotics engineer you will help expand our team’s capabilities.  This position requires Electrical aptitude as well as Fanuc robotics experience. You must be able to diagnose and repair robots as well as commission new robots. You must be able to build out prototypes without major instruction and be able to convey critical feedback when necessary about designs. Major electrical troubleshooting will also be required as some machinery is more sensitive to damage while testing new prototypes. A basic understanding of PLC functionality and wiring is required to do a majority of tasks. Also an ability to read electrical schematics and use it to wire new sensors into the system is required. As Robotics engineer, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our team’s capabilities and ensuring the seamless operation and innovation of our robotic systems. This demanding yet rewarding position requires a strong blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical experience.

Our culture emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and curiosity to help us overcome existing technological barriers in the industry to create truly innovative technologies. We are growing quickly with a vision to build and deliver products to the world with a continuous emphasis on research and development to push the technological edge.  We value candidates who are passionate about what they build, feel a strong sense of ownership over their work, and love being continually challenged.  You are someone who cares deeply about your team so you are both direct and believe in doing what you say. This role is ideal for a highly skilled and proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about pushing the boundaries of robotics technology.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Robotics Expertise (Fanuc Focus): A core requirement for this role is significant experience with Fanuc robotics. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our robotic systems, including the diagnosis and repair of existing robots, as well as the meticulous commissioning of new robotic units. Your ability to troubleshoot complex robotic issues and bring new systems online efficiently will be critical.
  • Electrical Aptitude and Troubleshooting: This position demands a high level of electrical aptitude. You must be proficient in major electrical troubleshooting, particularly given that some machinery is highly sensitive to damage during the testing phases of new prototypes. Your expertise in diagnosing and resolving electrical issues will safeguard our valuable equipment and ensure the integrity of our testing processes.
  • Prototyping and Design Feedback: You will be instrumental in the development of new technologies by building out prototypes with minimal instruction. Furthermore, your ability to convey critical and constructive feedback regarding design flaws or areas for improvement is essential. Your insights will directly influence the refinement and success of our innovative projects.
  • PLC Functionality and Wiring: A foundational understanding of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) functionality and wiring is required to execute a majority of the tasks associated with this role. This knowledge will enable you to interact effectively with the control systems that govern our robotic operations.
  • Electrical Schematics and Sensor Integration: You must possess the ability to accurately read and interpret electrical schematics. This skill is crucial for tasks such as wiring new sensors into existing systems, ensuring proper functionality and integration with our robotic and control infrastructure. This role is ideal for a highly skilled and proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about pushing the boundaries of robotics technology.

Experience and Skills You'll Need:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in lab or warehouse maintenance is required.
  • 3 years of Fanuc Robotics training or experience, encompassing: 1) Diagnosis of alarm codes and internal repairs. 2) Proficiency in all general Fanuc Preventive Maintenance (PM) services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Some experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) wiring and troubleshooting, with a preference for minor PLC controls experience.
  • Proficiency in reading CAD drawings and assembly documentation.
  • Excellent hands-on skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • 3 years of experience in precision fabrication and assembly, including the use of power tools (welding, manual mill, band saw, drill press, etc.).
  • 5 years of experience in reading electrical and mechanical schematics, and familiarity with the associated software.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience with industrial-grade electrical wiring.
  • Preferred electrical certifications, pertaining to low or high power systems.
  • Experience working with 480v 3 phase powered industrial equipment.
  • Strong initiative and self-motivation, with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required (H1B transfer sponsorship is available).
