The Safety Systems and Compliance Program Lead is responsible for overseeing all safety systems, regulatory compliance programs, and required documentation across the organization. This role ensures full compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and fire/life safety standards while maintaining accurate records, permits, and reporting systems. The position plays a critical role in enabling safe, compliant operations across facilities and deployed environments, while driving the company toward achieving ISO safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities:

    • Manage and maintain all regulatory permits and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements 

    • Ensure operational safety compliance with applicable Client Contracts and Vendor Agreements 

    • Oversee Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) programs, including inspections, documentation, and reporting 

    • Administer Land Use Control (LUC) zones, ensuring adherence to site-specific restrictions and requirements 

    • Own training record management, including tracking, reporting, and ensuring compliance with required safety training programs 

    • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and maintain audit readiness at all times 

    • Oversee fire and life safety programs, including inspections, system compliance, and coordination with local authorities 

    • Manage hazardous waste programs, including proper storage, labeling, manifesting, and recordkeeping 

    • Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) systems, ensuring accessibility, accuracy, and compliance with Hazard Communication standards 

    • Lead efforts to develop, implement, and achieve ISO standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001), including system development, audits, and certification readiness 

    • Ensure compliance across multiple state regulatory environments, with a strong understanding of requirements in Georgia, California, and Florida 

    • Conduct audits, inspections, and gap assessments, driving corrective actions to closure 

    • Partner with operations and site leadership to ensure safety and compliance requirements are integrated into daily activities 

    • Track, report, and communicate compliance metrics, risks, and program status to leadership 

Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) 

    • 5+ years of experience in EHS, compliance, or safety systems management 

    • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and fire/life safety standards 

    • Demonstrated experience managing compliance across multiple states, including Georgia, California, and Florida 

    • Experience managing permits, SWPPP, hazardous waste, and compliance documentation systems 

    • High attention to detail with strong organizational and recordkeeping capabilities 

    • Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously in a fast-paced environment 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, ASP, CHMM, or equivalent) 

    • Experience implementing and achieving ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 certifications 

    • Clean room or controlled environment experience 

    • Background supporting multi-site or deployed operations 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move throughout office, hangar, and industrial environments, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs for extended periods

  • Ability to conduct site inspections, including accessing confined, elevated, or restricted areas as needed (e.g., rooftops, mechanical spaces, test stands)

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally (e.g., safety equipment, inspection tools, documentation materials)

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators (as required), gloves, and protective footwear

  • Ability to visually inspect work areas, equipment, labeling, and documentation for compliance and safety risks

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and technology for documentation, reporting, and compliance tracking

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed across a combination of office, manufacturing and outdoor environments, including active test and operational sites

  • Regular exposure to industrial conditions such as noise, vibration, moving machinery, chemicals, fuels, and varying temperatures

  • Frequent interaction with engineering, operations, facilities, and test teams in fast-paced, high-consequence environments

  • Up to 25–40% travel to multiple sites, including Atlanta, GA; Los Angeles/Hawthorne, CA; Jacksonville, FL; and other deployed or test locations as needed

  • May be required to support audits, inspections, or operational activities outside of normal business hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends

  • Work may involve supporting compliance activities in high-risk environments such as flight test operations, engine testing, and hazardous material handling areas

  • Must be comfortable working in environments requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements

U.S. EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE STATUS 
The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls, and therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing. US persons include U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents (green card holders), and asylees and refugees with such status granted, not pending.
