Business Sales Manager

Company Description:
Sagetap is a rapidly growing startup changing how enterprise technology executives discover and evaluate software. Our AI-driven platform anonymously connects tech buyers with the industry’s most credible technology vendors, helping them cut through the noise and solve their biggest problems.

Backed by investors like NFX Ventures, Uncorrelated Ventures, and Emergent Ventures, we are on a mission to fundamentally change software discovery for senior technology leaders, fostering meaningful connections in a non-sales setting.

We’re a tight-knit, fast-moving team that values curiosity, transparency, and impact. If you’re energetic, results-oriented, and excited to work in an early-stage environment, come help us shape the future of technology buying at Sagetap!

Job Description:

At Sagetap, the strength of our marketplace is defined by who enters the network.
As a Business Sales Manager, you will own the top-of-funnel pipeline of new Sages. Identifying, engaging, and converting high-quality technology leaders into our network.

This is a high-ownership, outbound-focused role centered on engaging senior executives in a non-transactional environment. You will build and refine a highly targeted pipeline, develop thoughtful outreach strategies, and drive a consistent flow of qualified, high-signal applicants.

What You Will Do:

Own Sage Acquisition

  • Identify and source high-quality technology leaders (CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, Heads of AI, etc.)

  • Build and manage a targeted pipeline focused on relevance and signal.

  • Own outbound efforts across LinkedIn and other channels.

  • Build relationships with these executives and drive referrals

  • Partner with Community to convert event-driven pipeline into qualified Sage applications through timely, high-quality follow-up.

Engage Senior Executives

  • Craft and send personalized, high-quality outreach

  • Clearly communicate Sagetap’s value in a way that resonates with senior leaders

  • Drive responses, conversations, and applications

  • Serve as a partner to these executives, inviting them to a premium network, rather than purely transactional outreach

Drive High-Quality Applications

  • Ensure applicants meet role, industry, and seniority standards

  • Set clear expectations to support strong onboarding and early engagement

  • Maintain a high bar for who enters the network

Track, Learn, and Improve

  • Monitor outreach performance, response rates, and conversion

  • Test messaging and targeting approaches

  • Identify what works and scale it quickly

Maintain Pipeline Discipline

  • Keep CRM clean and up to date

  • Track outreach activity and follow-ups

  • Surface risks and gaps early

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3–7 years of experience in SDR, BDR, executive recruiting, community growth, or similar outbound roles

  • Proven ability to build pipeline and generate responses from senior-level audiences

  • Strong written communication and messaging skills

  • Comfortable engaging executives and communicating a non-transactional value proposition

  • High ownership and strong judgment, you focus on quality and prioritize effectively

  • Data-driven mindset; you track performance and improve based on results

  • Resilient and persistent; you follow up, iterate, and keep going

  • Highly organized with strong CRM discipline

  • Excited to work in an early-stage, fast-moving environment

Additional Information

  • Location: Hybrid, San Francisco Bay Area (in office 3 days per week)

  • Tools: CRM systems, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and modern outreach tools

  • Environment: High accountability, strong ownership, and thoughtful flexibility

What you will have at Sagetap:

  • Early-stage equity

  • Competitive salary + 401(k)

  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits

  • Real ownership in building a category-defining product

  • Opportunity to work closely with a high-performing, mission-driven team

Diversity drives innovation, enables better decisions to support our customers, and inspires change for the better. We’re building a culture where differences are valued and welcomed. We work together to bring out the best in each other. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or any other applicable legally protected characteristics in the location in which the candidate is applying.
