The sales and marketing internship position at Viamericas offers a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in sales strategies, marketing campaigns, and customer engagement within the fast-paced cross-border remittance and financial services industry. The incumbent will assist in developing and executing marketing initiatives, promotions, supporting sales efforts, and analyzing market trends. This role is ideal for recent graduates eager to apply their skills in a professional setting while contributing to meaningful marketing projects that make a global impact.
Duties and Responsabilities
- Engage with prospective and existing agencies, end customers and consumers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Dress agent locations according to brand standards.
- Participate in the development of promotional programs.
- Actively engage with consumers at agents’ location, set up in-store promotional events and other marketing initiatives to promote the brand.
- Assist with marketing and promotional activities such as massive events, trade shows, grass root events, festivals, fairs, or parades.
- Perform some activities related to our rewards program, training agencies, helping end customers to enroll, and promote the program.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Department in market research activities.
- Communicate market conditions to the Marketing Department and the local Sales Team; report agency needs, monitor competitive pricing and exchange rates, collaborate with market research activities, report any relevant information about the industry.
- Assist the sales team in prospecting potential customers and lead generation.
- Shadow experienced sales and marketing professionals and learn sales techniques.
- Assist in data analysis to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Engage in ongoing training and development activities.
- Read, acknowledge and comply with Viamericas Staff Information Security Policy via the Information Security training portal. This should be done within 30 days of hire and repeated annually.
- Attend periodic Information Security training provided by Viamericas’.
- Report any event that might be an Information Security Incident: clicked on a malicious link, downloaded and opened a suspicious file, etc

Qualifications
- The ideal candidate is a recent undergraduate from a degree program related to Business, Marketing, or a relevant field.
- Fluency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Bi-Lingual English/Spanish
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interactions.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude toward tasks and challenges.
- Basic knowledge of sales and marketing concepts.
- Competency in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel and PowerPoint.
- Adaptability and a willingness to take on new responsibilities.
- An inquisitive mindset for market research and trend analysis.
- Commitment to the internship duration and an interest in pursuing a sales career.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is mandatory.
- US Passport or valid travel visa is required.
Working Conditions
- Within the first month, this position will be required to travel to our Tijuana office for training. This position will work remotely at agency locations, traveling 99% of the time around the assigned area. Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends according to the needs of the business. Must wear a company branded shirt and wear professional attire all the time.
Internship Duration: This internship is expected to last one year, providing hands-on experience and professional development opportunities. Candidates should be available to commit to the full duration of the program.
