About Origin by Prelude

Origin is building the next generation of endpoint security for the AI era.

Across the enterprise, AI agents are quickly becoming part of everyday workflows. They’re driving meaningful productivity gains, but they’re also creating a new and largely uncharted risk surface: agents operating on endpoints with powerful permissions, opaque behavior, and limited visibility or control.

Origin is developing endpoint capabilities purpose-built for this shift, giving organizations the tools to safely grant AI agents the permissions they need while maintaining control, oversight, and trust.

We’re backed by Sequoia Capital, Brightmind Partners, IA Ventures, and others, and built by a deeply technical team of Windows internals researchers, product engineers, and offensive operations specialists.

Role

Origin is seeking a Sales / Business Development Representative (SDR / BDR) who thrives when challenged, combines competitive energy with focus, builds meaningful connections, and is motivated by measurable results. This role takes the first steps in creating a high-quality sales pipeline and generating opportunities that drive Origin’s growth.

You’ll research, reach out, and engage with prospects across the market, building strong connections and fuelling the sales engine. This role rewards focus, persistence, and the ability to turn effort into results.

Responsibilities

Drive Opportunity Generation

  • Reach out to prospects via calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other channels to spark interest.

  • Research and connect with potential clients, turning initial contacts into qualified opportunities.

  • Leverage referrals from team members, early customers, and your own network to uncover new opportunities.

  • Share relevant insights, content, or research to initiate meaningful conversations with prospects.

Own and Manage Your Pipeline

  • Take full ownership of your pipeline, prioritizing high-potential prospects and accounts.

  • Track results, follow up strategically, and iterate your approach to maximize impact.

  • Manage inbound leads efficiently, qualifying and routing opportunities to keep the sales engine moving.

  • Demonstrate competitive drive, curiosity, and resilience in every interaction.

Create Opportunities and Build Processes

  • Engage prospects in thoughtful conversations that build relationships and generate opportunities.

  • Capture trends, objections, and gaps in the market, sharing insights with leadership to refine messaging and strategy.

  • Contribute ideas for new ways to identify and engage prospects, helping scale Origin’s outreach efforts.

  • Contribute to building playbooks, templates, and frameworks for the team.

Skills and Experience

  • 2 - 3 Years of Sales Experience: BDR, SDR, retail, B2B, or other competitive roles that demonstrate results.

  • Competitive Drive & Grit: Ambitious, persistent, and motivated to achieve measurable outcomes.

  • Self-Starter Mindset: Takes ownership of outreach, follow-ups, and pipeline without needing a playbook.

  • Strong Communication: Builds rapport quickly, asks the right questions, and conveys value clearly.

  • Creative & Resourceful: Finds new ways to generate leads and open doors.

  • Collaborative with Leadership: Works closely with the CEO and early team, sharing insights and contributing to strategy.

  • Hungry for Growth: Eager to develop skills, advance your career, and make an impact at Origin.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in the cybersecurity industry

  • Familiarity with CRMs like Salesforce or HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, email automation tools, or other sales engagement platforms.
