Description

At Nimble, we're building a new kind of outbound function that combines traditional sales development with AI-powered research, automation, and GTM execution.

We're looking for a hands-on Outbound Engineering Manager to lead and develop this team while helping us build and improve the outbound motion.

This is a player/coach role. You'll manage a team of Outbound AI Engineers while carrying a reduced individual quota as the team grows. Over time, you'll transition into a full management role focused on coaching, team performance, pipeline, and revenue.

We're looking for someone with strong BDR/SDR experience who enjoys coaching, improving outbound execution, and building processes, but still wants to be directly involved in prospecting and generating pipeline.

You don't need to be an AI engineer. Your team will build the agents, workflows, research tools, and GTM assets. Your responsibility is to make sure those tools improve outbound performance and help generate pipeline and ARR.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and coach a growing team of Outbound AI Engineers.
  • Carry a reduced individual quota, including making calls, prospecting, and creating pipeline.
  • Coach the team on cold calling, email, LinkedIn, cadences, objection handling, and follow-up.
  • Develop and improve outbound strategies, messaging, and account engagement.
  • Run regular pipeline reviews, call reviews, and individual coaching sessions.
  • Work closely with Enterprise AEs and Sales leadership to improve pipeline generation and deal progression.
  • Ensure the team remains focused on assigned accounts and GTM priorities.
  • Evaluate AI-powered research, account briefs, workflows, and GTM assets for effectiveness.
  • Identify gaps in outbound execution and work with the team to improve processes and tools.
  • Own team performance, onboarding, ramp, and development as the function grows.
Requirements
  • Experience as a BDR/SDR Manager, Team Lead, or Senior BDR ready to take the next step into management.
  • Proven success in outbound prospecting and generating qualified pipeline.
  • Strong cold-calling, sequencing, messaging, and objection-handling skills.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring other BDRs and improving team performance.
  • Comfortable managing pipeline targets, tracking conversion rates, and holding people accountable.
  • Experience working with Enterprise AEs and account-based outbound motions.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered GTM tools, automation, and modern prospecting technologies.
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving environment where processes are still being developed.
  • Willingness to remain hands-on and carry a quota while building and leading the team.

We're not looking for someone who needs an established playbook or wants to manage from a distance. You'll have the opportunity to help shape how this function operates as it grows.

Why This Role Is Different

You'll have the opportunity to build and lead a new outbound function rather than inherit a traditional BDR team.

Our Outbound AI Engineers use AI agents, automation, research, and custom tools to replace repetitive manual work and improve sales execution.

Your job is to bring the outbound expertise, coaching, and commercial judgment that ensures this work generates real results.

We're looking for someone who enjoys both sides of the role: getting directly involved in outbound and helping others become better at it.
