Sales Development Representative (SDR)
Remote — North America | Full-Time | $60,000 - $70,000 USD OTE + 5% of all sourced revenue (uncapped)

About the Role
TaxGPT is building the intelligence layer for tax. We’ve partnered with over 3,000 firms and 6,000+ businesses — from lean CPA firms to global enterprises — to redefine how professionals research, collaborate, and execute tax workflows using AI.

We’re looking for a hungry, curious, and disciplined Sales Development Representative to help us reach the next wave of accounting firms, tax professionals, and finance teams across North America. As an SDR at TaxGPT, you’ll be the first human touchpoint for many of our future customers — researching accounts, making calls, and booking qualified meetings that drive real revenue.

This is a high-ownership role with a clear, KPI-based promotion path into a closing Account Executive seat. The best performers won’t stay SDRs for long — they’ll earn their way into AE by consistently hitting performance targets and revenue goals.

If you’re sharp, self-motivated, and want to build a sales career in one of the most exciting AI-meets-vertical-SaaS markets, this is for you.

What You’ll Do

Build qualified pipeline for our AE team
Own outbound prospecting across phone and email to generate high-quality meetings with accounting firms, tax professionals, and tax advisors.

Run sharp, human, outbound outreach
There will be opportunities to flex and be creative, there will be times when the task requires smile and dial. In both situations a natural curiosity and sales instinct is crucial.

Qualify inbound leads
Work inbound demo requests to understand fit, surface pain, and route the right opportunities to the correct AEs

Own your numbers
Hit and exceed weekly and monthly meetings, pipeline targets, and activity targets as the need requires. Keep your CRM clean, your follow-ups tight, and your forecasts honest.

Partner closely with AEs
Operate as a true partner to your AE — warm handoffs, post-meeting follow-up, and tight feedback loops on what’s landing in market.

Be the voice of the prospect internally
Share what you’re hearing in the field with sales, marketing, and product. Your front-line insights will shape messaging, campaigns, and roadmap priorities.

Earn your promotion to AE
This role has a defined, KPI-based promotion path into an Account Executive seat. Hit your numbers consistently, demonstrate strong selling fundamentals, and you’ll be set up to take the next step in your career here.

What You’ll Need
  • 1–2 years of SDR, BDR, or outbound sales experience, ideally in SaaS or technology
  • A proven track record of hitting and exceeding pipeline, meeting, or activity quotas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — clear, concise, and tailored to the audience
  • Strong sales and prospecting instincts; you know how to find the right accounts, the right people, and the right messaging
  • Growth mindset, high ownership, and comfort with the volume and rejection that comes with outbound sales
  • Coachable and self-aware — you actively seek feedback and apply it quickly
  • Organized and disciplined with your pipeline, follow-ups, and CRM hygiene
  • Ambitious about a long-term sales career and motivated by a clear path to AE

Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience selling into accounting firms, tax professionals, CPAs, or financial services teams
  • Excited about AI and how it’s reshaping work — bonus points if you already build it into your day
  • Some knowledge of tax software platforms (e.g., CCH, Thomson Reuters, TaxPrep)
  • Background in accounting, tax, or finance — even if not in a sales capacity
  • Early-stage or founding SDR experience at a high-growth startup
  • Comfort using modern outbound tooling and AI-assisted workflows

What We Offer

Compensation
$60,000 - $70,000 USD OTE plus 5% commission on all sourced revenue — uncapped. The more pipeline you create that closes, the more you earn.

Clear Promotion Path
A defined, KPI-based path to promote into an Account Executive role. We want you to grow here.

Benefits
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.

Remote-first
Work from anywhere in North America.

Ownership & Impact
Direct visibility into leadership, product strategy, and company growth initiatives. Your work directly influences revenue.

Professional Development
Access to top-tier sales training, AI tooling, and development resources including a $350 credit, all to sharpen your craft.

Culture
We’re a high-trust, high-output team. Expect fast feedback loops, real ownership, and cross-functional collaboration.

Our Hiring Process
Step 1: Quick Screen (10 minutes)
Apply online and we’ll review your application quickly.

Step 2: Outbound Assignment (~45 minutes)
You’ll receive a recorded cold call to analyze. Record yourself reviewing the call and how you might adjust the approach and give recommendations for improvement.

Step 3: Virtual Interview (1 hour)
We’ll dive into your assignment, your outbound approach, and how you think about generating pipeline and partnering with AEs.
