Sales Director - Americas

The Sales Director overseeing the Americas will be responsible for driving strategic sales efforts and closing key deals across the region. You will work closely with Engineering, Business Development, and the Executive team to expand our customer base and accelerate revenue growth. This is a customer-facing role that requires both technical expertise to tailor our satellite solutions for diverse markets within the Americas and strong business acumen to develop partnerships with telecom providers, government agencies, enterprises, and other key stakeholders

Role
  • Own and drive the sales pipeline across North and South America, accelerating the sales cycle to secure new customers and partnerships.
  • Present Astranis’ technical capabilities confidently, representing the company at customer meetings, industry conferences, and public events.
  • Identify and develop opportunities with telecom operators, ISPs, government agencies, enterprises, and other key market segments.
  • Negotiate and close large, complex deals with senior client stakeholders while fostering long-term relationships for follow-on sales.
  • Bridge the gap between technical and business requirements, collaborating with Engineering to develop solutions that address connectivity challenges across the Americas.
  • Work closely with internal teams to drive technical proposals, ensuring they align with customer needs in the Americas.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across governments, telecom providers, and corporate enterprises in the Americas.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and market analyses for the Astranis Executive Team and Board of Directors.
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in the satellite, telecommunications, or technology sectors in the Americas.
  • 7+ years in a customer-facing sales role with experience closing large, complex deals in the Americas.
  • Strong understanding of the telecommunications landscape, connectivity challenges, and regulatory environments across the Americas.
  • Proven track record of selling satellite or telecom solutions to customers across the Americas, including government entities, telecom operators, and enterprises.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the Americas.
  • Passion for closing deals and driving revenue growth in a fast-paced, emerging market.
  • US Citizen, Green Card Holder, or authorized to work in the US.
Bonus
  • Fluent in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
  • Experience working with government agencies, telecom regulators, or public-private partnerships in the Americas.
  • Strong knowledge of satellite broadband, VSAT, or cellular backhaul solutions for rural and underserved areas.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and structuring deals in emerging markets.
  • Additional multilingual capabilities.

Base pay is just one component of Astranis’s total rewards package. Your compensation also includes a significant equity package via incentive stock options, high-quality company-subsidized healthcare, disability and life insurance, 401(k) retirement planning, flexible PTO, and free on-site catered meals.

Astranis pay ranges are informed and defined through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, and the level and scope of the position.
Base Salary
$170,000$210,000 USD
