COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Bloom Credit helps companies launch lending products, report consumers' payments, and create innovative credit experiences. We provide clients with data from all three credit bureaus, the necessary expertise to launch seamlessly, and proprietary analytics for enhanced credit insights. Our solutions are delivered through Bloom's developer-friendly API, ensuring ease of integration and functionality.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Sales Engineer (Solutions Consultant) to serve as the technical backbone of our product sales process. You'll partner with Account Executives to understand the technical, regulatory, and operational needs of financial institutions and fintech companies, then demonstrate how our platform solves them. This role requires equal parts technical fluency and comfort navigating the compliance-heavy, risk-averse buying processes typical of banks, payment companies, and financial services firms.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Partner with Account Executives to qualify opportunities and uncover technical, security, and compliance requirements specific to financial services buyers

- Deliver tailored product demonstrations addressing use cases like payments, lending/credit decisioning, credit reporting, banking infrastructure, fraud/risk, or compliance workflows

- Design and run proof-of-concept engagements, including sandbox integrations with core banking systems, payment rails, or data providers

- Own technical responses to RFPs/RFIs and detailed security/compliance questionnaires (SOC 2, PCI DSS, GLBA, data residency, encryption standards)

- Serve as the primary technical liaison during evaluation — fielding deep-dive questions on APIs, webhooks, data schemas, authentication (OAuth, mTLS), uptime/SLAs, and infrastructure architecture

- Explain how the product fits into a prospect's existing fintech stack (core banking systems, KYC/AML providers, payment processors, ledgers)

- Collaborate with Legal, Security, and Engineering teams to support vendor risk assessments and due diligence reviews

- Relay customer and prospect feedback to Product to influence roadmap, especially around compliance and regulatory features

- Build reusable technical collateral: architecture diagrams, integration guides, security one-pagers, demo environments

- Support handoff to Implementation/Customer Success, particularly for complex integrations with legacy financial systems

- Track regulatory and industry shifts (open banking, real-time payments, embedded finance) that affect technical positioning

- Occasional travel for on-site meetings, conferences

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- 3+ years in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or Solutions Architect role, ideally selling to banks, credit unions, payment companies, or fintech startups

- Working knowledge of financial services technology: core banking systems, payment rails (ACH, wire, card networks, RTP/FedNow), ledgers, or KYC/AML/fraud tooling

- Familiarity with consumer credit reporting ecosystem

- Strong understanding of APIs and integration patterns (REST, webhooks, SFTP, SSO/OAuth)

- Familiarity with financial services compliance and security frameworks (SOC 2, PCI DSS, GLBA, SOX, or relevant regional regulations)

- Comfortable with SQL and at least one scripting language (Python preferred) for demo customization and data walkthroughs

- Excellent communication skills — able to speak credibly with both engineers and risk/compliance stakeholders

- Experience managing multiple concurrent deals with long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles typical of enterprise fintech

- Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot) and demo/sandbox environments

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

NICE TO HAVE

- Direct experience at a bank, payment processor, or fintech company (engineering, product, or risk function)

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and cloud security practices

- Knowledge of open banking standards (Plaid, FDX) or embedded finance models
